Radiator upside down?

Hey.....

I was wondering if it would cause any troubles, it I turned my radiator around, so the barbs turns down. I have an Eheim 1048, so flow won't be such a big problem, and I'm aware of air trapping in it. I probably need to bleed the system before I turn it around.

But what do you guys think?

EDIT: Forgot to tell, it's an old heatercore from a Vauxhall.

it will be fine, as long as you get all the air out first, also remember that the radiator will act like a resivoir as well like this

I'd take it one step further than Brad said and solder a small fitting on the new "top" of the rad that can be plugged to act as an air bleeder during filling. if you're going to put in in with the barbs on the bottom. But thats just me.

Take the whole unit to the southern hemisphere... Everything's backwards/upsidedown there. Cyclones, seasons, twisters, etc. The air will bleed out just fine there, as water will appear to 'rise' to the top, and the air will escape out the bottom. Ask Brad... he'll tell ya.

This is a good idea Hellion. At first I was going to mount my heater core with the inlets at the bottom, but was concerned about air being trapped at the top, so I inverted it.

If you have seen the inverted image of my Ford Van heater core posted here, now you know why.
