Hoses - What Do You Use and What Do You Recommend?

As you might have read in another of my topics I just lost my AXIA 1.33ghz 266 T-Bird due to braided PVC hose rocking the waterblock up off the chip (after I changed my video card). I've taken the very largest diameter paths I could (no sharp bends at all). But really the hose is to stiff.

What does everybody recommend for a kink and collapse (from the pump suction) resistant hose which is very flexible (so this time the waterblock isn't being rocked at all)???

I've already been told about McMaster Tygon in 1/8" Wall, 1/2" ID. 3/4" OD and McMaster Silicon in same size. Has anyone had any luck with these, or what do you recommend in 1/2" (doesn't need to be clear, anything flexible and kink / collapse resistant)???

I really don't care to spend a couple dollars a foot as cheap hose cost me 200USD (about) for a new CPU

I use thin-walled 1/2" silicon. Its very flexible. If you have to have a sharp bend in your system, use a right angled filling to prevent kinking.

Its just the McMAster stuff though, so you could get it at either place.

What wall size is Danger Den using?? if it's the thinwall 1/16" then man, Gator is right, there expensive!!! Could it be the 1/8", has anybody purchased it??? What's better (I see theres also a 3/32 in between)???

RedLeader showed you the best Silicon hose
Wall thickness is 1/8" and plyable. The beauty of that $2.50 a foot is that is good down to minus 50C.
The majority of WC kit vendors send the hard vinyl tubeing you see at Home Depot.
For a better grade vinyl tube try OverclockersHideout.com the surgical grade 3/8" I.D. is 69 Cents a foot.
The issue is the OCHO tube can be removed by hand after 6 months, the "Home Depot" get hard and has to be cut with an Exacto knife and shortened.

So what type of tubing is the mcmaster carr type that dangerden sells? I see on mcmaster's site, you can buy all kinds of plastic tubing... and it's really cheap. (?)

From what Amy says, it the 1/2" ID, 3/4"OD 1/8"wall Silicon tubing listed under rubber tubing. It's actually cheaper at Danger Den than McMaster (assumin Danger Den buys it in the full 50ft coils). I won't be going 50 below, but very pliable sounds very good to me, and $2.50x7 is much cheaper than $250x1 for a CPU

get some of that soft copper tubeing. It wont move and mess with anything and it will help take heat out of the water. Just an idea.

I thought about the copper tubing, but I tend to modify, change and move things in my system to often to not have a removable solution (I mean regularly). I appreciate the idea.

I do have my system running with the PVC again (and supported be zip ties), but I'm still wary of clocking up my new 1.4g AYHJA until I get a better solution (I want to hit 1.8g). I'm currently just on a laptop until I fix it right.
