Default My Res dreams SHATTERED via Fed Ex

Look at this carnage.

THANK YOU FED EX.

The package was packaged very well actually. I cant believe this. The tube was 23" long, but now the usable area is 14". They broke NINE INCHES off of my tube!

Worst part... It was an ebay item and I doubt I'll ever find one for the same price.

So much for my two foot tornado tube.

ouch... That really sucks man.

Its almost like my tube was struck against another object... Look at the second picture... see the cracks comming from one point? I think some jackass at Fed-Ex was hitting stuff with my tube.

Melt man

That does suck!

Looked at your first post, then read your second.
I got this vivid mental picture of the FedEx guy loading his truck with your package in his hands and tossing up smaller ones and knocking into the truck with your tube.Yelling "IT MIGHT GO ALL THE WAY"

sorry, I know this won't help but take a look here at this guys

Personally I've had better luck with UPS than Fed ex. I ordered 2 Asus A7V 333 mobos from new egg. They were both packed in a box the same size as the mobo box (no foam or bubble wrap at all) and they were both DOA. I then ordered a Gigabyte from mwave shipped UPS packed with lots of foam and the board works flawlessly.

OOHH they will pay, it was insured, BUT it was an E-Bay item! I'll never get one like it for the same price.

The guy I got it from is going to check and see if he cant get another.

one question, why didn't you check it before the guy left? i always make sure that I check it all before the guy leaves, and if it isn't all perfect there is hell to play

I've seen airline baggage handlers do that too...

My guideline is this:
stand 6 feet away from a wall, throw your package at the wall as hard as you can. If it survives, it'll be ok.

*UPDATE*

Well, It looks like I cant get another tube from the guy. He checked in the shop and there is nothing like it. So, he is sending a full refund in the mail. When I get that, I am going to tapplastics.com and ordering 6' of the same diameter tube for $25 plus shipping. They cut them into 3' lengths, so I will have TWO BIGGER tornados standing on the floor of my room. Or a couple of big res's at least.

Plus I get to keep the broken tube which I will cut down to about 14" and use to make another res for my little brothers computer.

are these gonna be for twister cooling or just for looks? because if your gonna be cooling or maby even getting this thing to spin fast, youll need 1000+gph, pepsi from ocforums, uses 2x1800gph pumps to spin a 10inch wide 3feet tall twister.... and one to spin a 4foot 4inch wide one... it mostly depends on the hole the water spirals thru, but if its not enough gph itll just kinda spin the water and bubles will come up...

-edit- i figured you'd like a link, its VERY interesting...

http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showth...1&goto=newpost

that will be like on the 19th page or something, you may wanna start by looking thru the first couple pages and reading the ones to follow..

Heh I read through ALL of those pages.... VERY cool!!!

MaskedGeek, you wouldnt happen to know if Pepsi is in the business to build a small one of those?

I have this invisionment of haveing a small vortex stick out from the top back of my tower with a small twister inside.

To be perfectly honest, after I read all the posts and thought about it, I may have some ideas on how to make a small "cube" twister that the cooling section will sit inside the case and have the twister comming out the top for all to see
