Default Hows this sound for cooling

I'm looking in to watercooling once again. SO far here`s what I'm getting for the case I'll be getting is the YY0221B, a super cube radiator. The only problem is I can't make up my mind on what block I want. I was going to get the Maze 3 but after what I have seen and read I have changed my mind. I'm now thinking about a block from DTek. So beteen al the DTk block which ne isthe best I'll be using a Via Aqua 1300 Mag drive 370g.p.h. pump. Everything will be done with 1/2" barbs.

The via pump is reportedly noisy. If you've not bought it yet, try a Maxijet or a Eheim.
Dtek's TC-4 looks like it's the best block available in the U.S., maybe better than DD Maze3. I'd really want to see a comparo between those 2.
YY cube roxx Good luck for cutting that 2mm thick Kobe steel...

How much room is in the YY Cube. I need to see about getting a res for it. In town here I have the choice of 4x4x4 or 6 3/4 x 6 3/4 x 6 3/4.

The Via 1300 is a piece of crap. It is NOT silent and it doesn't pump half the quantity that is advertised under NO load. Under any head load it practically fails. That said, I have one that I used for less than 5 minutes if you want to buy it.

Well there are lots of room in this case.
But about the res i'd always take the smallest. Firstly because a bigger res is totally useless, and secondly because it would save room for something else.
BTW there are a lot of small res out there, most are tube-like. I'd definitely go with one of this kind.
If you made a typo and meant a rad, check Kevin's articles on this site to see what he did to his YY cube Basically it has the height of a full size ATX mobo, is very deep, and has two "chambers". The HD/CD chamber is as large as a normal ATX case - there's about 1cm on each side of 5.1/4" bays.

The TC-4, DD maze3 and Spiral are all top-of-the-line waterblocks. I really dont know which one outperforms the others but my guess is they're all *very* close to each other.

The Danger Den Maze 3 Poly top is made from PolyMethyMethAcrylate - ACRYLIC (Lucite) NOT PolyCarbonate (Lexan).

he's a REALLY REALLY cool guy. He made me a clear 12x19x6 reservoir for my dehumidifier/phase change unit. He wouldnt accept money from me. So I asked him how much it would be for something like that for a business. he said around 45. But he would have to sit down and figure it out. But its real good quality. U can tell from his website.

airspirit I think you got ahold of a bad pump because I know alot of guys in these forums including myself that run the Via aqua 1300 and have for quite a long time with no problems at all. It's a fantastic pump, puts out alot of flow, and is very cheap. It almost sounds like you may have had a serious back pressure problem. Sorry to see your so down on the pump.

It can be either inline or submerged. I've got a Via Aqua 1300 inline and it is quiet.

I got the expandable sleeve from Sidewinder Computers. Comes in 12" sections with a couple of pieces of shrink tube.

I cut them in half and they are just the right length to fit between molex connectors. I put the full length between the PS and first connector. When you cut it you need to singe the ends with flame otherwise the stuff unravels. Too much flame time and they don't expand easily to get the terminals through. I cut the shrink tube in half for the cut pieces so I have enough to cover the ends so it doesn't unravel.

The hardest PS I did was an Enermax that had four sets of connectors to get through. A small piece of tape helps on the terminals that come through backwards, otherwise the barbs tend to catch in the sleeving.

They had some available locally but it was on a 100 foot roll, real pricy. Radio Shack or an automotive store should have the tool to get the terminals out of the molex connectors.
