very nice, especially the chrome BIX...where's the case?

How/where did you buy your tygon/silicone? Did you buy them locally or did you order? I want to order some replacement tygon, but if overseas shipping is too expensive, I'll have to wait until I'm in the States later...which sux, because I'm impatient

Urm, I'm still finding time to cut up my casing... it's a Lian Li PC70.
Presently having my air-cooled rig laid bare on the table...

I bought the Silicon hose locally, and the Tygon hose from Dtekcustoms.

Sharp eyes!
I won't be using the silicon hose, and most probably, I'll choose the Spir@l over the Cyclone5.

Is that a dryer duct? I'm looking for a duct just like that...something that isn't made of cardboard

Waiting to hear back, I'm going to start buying my rig components shortly

Reservoir/Airtrap, I made myself. A mix between Turbokeu's and

AquaComputer's design.

Completed

Test

More details here : http://forums.natriumtech.com/viewtopic.php?t=1291

As for the shroud/duct, it's a direct copy of Turbokeu's creation.

I don't have a pic of it completed

More details here : http://forums.natriumtech.com/viewtopic.php?t=1949

Do a username search for Turbokeu and feast your eyes on his beautiful H2O rig.
He has detailed step-by-step guides on how he construct his airtrap and shroud.

Thats a sweet setup, not that you haven't heard that many times already. Do you have a cad program, or can you just list the parts with their respective sizes that you used to create your resevoir? It is a very good design, and I would really like to use it in my own system that I'm going to start buying parts for tomorrow......Tomorrow I'm buying the case, radiator, dremel, and I will get some plumbing equipment as well.

I really like the lian-li's...how are you mounting your BIX? The lian li's have those 2 built in 80mm fan in the front....and the BIX uses a 120mm. The lian li's make it hella hard to cut the aluminum casing in the front to mount the BIX and 120mm fan since the space it gives for air intake is 80mm by 160mm. The antec cases are similar with a duel 80mm front setup, but the air intake in the front will go to 120mm....so I was just going to slice a 120mm spot after removing the little duely.

This is an exact copy of the email I sent you

Hi, reason I wasn't around for the past 36 hours or so is becos I was
working.
Regarding your question, well, I intended to mount my BIX right at the top
of casing above the PSU. It's the same place as Turbokeu's setup.

Problem with that though is that the BIX will then be at the highest point
of my setup, rendering my air-trap more or less useless. That's also why I'm
gonna use it as a reservoir.

The reason why I decide of that setup is mainly cos I intend to have the air
intake from the top of the casing. I've planned to have a control console,
the airtrap/reservoir right at the top. It's kinda hard to explain without
any pictures. I'll post the final picture when I'm done.

If you are going to have your radiator at the bottom front, where are you
going to mount your HDDs? I guess it'll be alright though if you have just a
couple of HDD. But I have 6 so I really need the HDD rack.
Anyway, instead of having the exhaust to the side, how about having it
blowing down instead? You probably need to mount castors to heighten the
casing to allow for more space.

Another suggestion is to shift the PSU right to the top of the casing and
have the BIX below that. With a shroud from the side of the casing and
exhaust to the back.

I've also ponder on how it'll look to have the BIX in the 5.25" bays. Since
I'd only need 2 for my CDRW and DVD drive. Antec casings are known as
Chieftecs in my country. They are pretty cool, and their full towers are
larger than the PC70.

As for the dough, well, I've been working for 6 yrs plus and having no
commitments as yet (no wife, car nor house), most of what I earn go to my
PC.
Good luck and be sure to post pics too!

Looks like your the man with a plan Fella. I like the res too. I see you have some epoxy there. Is that what you used to glue the res together? I used a waterproof epoxy on my first res and after a month it started to leak at a corner. The next one I made, I used an acrylic cement that chemically bonds the acrylic. ISP Weld On #16 it was called. If it is a product someone else used and it works, then you have no worries.

I mounted my BIX above the PS on my LianLi PC70 too but ducted to case side for intake air instead.

An alternative to aluminum ducts is thin plexiglass. You can score it with a utility knife and break it off at the corner of a bench. Use acrylic cement to glue it together. I used a frosted plexi so it diffuses the light from the lit reservoir, looks cool at night.

I made a rectangular reservoir out of plexiglass and mounted it at top center of case with laser lights under it. With the BIX mounted on it's side, I need to do one slight case tip to get all the air out of it upon initial fill.

I have 3 SCSI CD ROM drives (40plex, 12/10/32 burner and DVD) and only two SCSI drives, so I mounted them in the upper bays and removed the drive carriage. Thats where I put the pump, though it could go into the lower 5.25 bays if they are open. The LianLi's are deep cases, and even with high CFM fans not much air makes it to the MB and expansion cards. Since I don't prefer side fans, I made a smoked plexi duct from the front intake and stacked the fans at the edge of MB tray.

The LianLi PC70 link in my sig takes you to a page of more photos of what I have done so far. Click on images for enlargements.

Nice job! Anxious to see the finished case!

Thank you fella.

The thin plexi is an alternative to working with aluminum, especially if you don't have the tools to make it easier. It's .052" thick, or 1.3mm, if I did the conversion right. It's like the stuff you get with inexpensive picture or diploma frames. I got it at a large home improvement store. Just like working with aluminum, make a model out of posterboard, then transfer it to the plexi.
