Default Who still plays counterstrike?

So YOU do? Can you do me a favor? Try to connect to 192.168.0.3:27015 and see if you can login. I was finally playing around with counterstrike servers and was wondering if anyone could reach me.

thanks

192.168.0.3 is a LAN IP. Nobody outside your LAN will be able to reach that server. You seem to be either running a LAN game server, or you're giving us the wrong IP.

So, does anyone know how to setup an acceptable ip behind a firewall? I can set my machine to anything. The firewall uses IP forewarding and can enable port 27015

Should I be giving you the assigned IP of the firewall server? How do I find it? Is there a command that you can type to see it?

If you're hosting a game besides any Lynsis router, just post your router IP to your buds, and they'll be able to getinto any game behind the router typically. Otherwise, just go into the router settings and open the ports for a specific machine, or if you don't know how to do that. Put your machine on the DMZ until you're done hosting the game, then remove it.

Default anyother possible solution

hey,

you could connect your server directly to you isp, throw another NIC in that server which is then connected to your router/hub/whater. Lastly you'll need to do internet connection sharing on your NIC that is connected to your ISP. That is the ghetto way around it but it is probably the easiest to set up. Oh, and I think you need win2k/orXP for this to work.

PS: woopz yeah I see the 192.168..... yeah that's your LAN IP.

Hehe, im not too network literate...

Heres what Ive got... DSL -> into Win2k gateway (192.168.0.1) -> 8 port switch -> all other computers, including the cs server (192.168.0.3)

The cs server is actually my computer, but I dont want to move it in front of the firewall because that would take a lot of moving/cord changing. Should the internal network be configured differently?

I enabled the port for my brothers warcraft3 games and he is able to serv now

I just mapped a service with that port to his machines internal network ip in win2k internet sharing.

Heres the question, should i be giving people the external ip of the gateway server to connect? Will it route that? Is there any way to tell hlds that so that it registers with the master servers correctly?

sheot!
