what is the space from the top of the psu to the top of the case

I believe the 1080 and 880 are identical in that particular respect, only the drive configuration varies. I measured just to the shy side of 1" between the top of the PSU and "rail" and roughly 1-1/2" from the top of the PSU and top sheet metal. The distance between the "rails" is about seven inches.
