Default PIF a heatercore

Pif is "pay it forward", and has become a very big thing on [M] (genmay.com).
Pif is just giving away your old stuff to those in need. For reference, the 138 page and growing genmay thread is here:
http://www.genmay.com/showthread.php...5&pagenumber=1

I call upon the watercoolers of procooling, here my call (heman referance), one of you must have a decent sized heatercore lying around. I will pif my thermaltake memory cooling kit (slightly used) to anyone who needs it, in hopes we can start the cascade effect.

-WireX
P.S. unless you are really strapped for cash, usually you pay shipping. I've sent two things to the usa already, at about 5 bucks a pop

come one guys, get back on topic. I only posted the link so you wouldn't think I was just trying to take your stuff. Btw, I still have the thermaltake memory cooling kit (slightly used), so if anyone wants it, pm me your address. Hopefully this will show that I am absolutely serious

I've got four Sparc stations (circa 91) in my garage (under a healthy coat of sawdust), but I don't think anyone would be willing to pay the shipping cost. Maybe there's a museum curator that hangs out here?

FWIW, I did send a guy up in Canada an old quad Sparc system about a year ago along with the SCSI HDD (2 gig) and SCSI CDRom (Toshiba 6.7X) and behemoth 600 watt PSU. I charged him shipping costs of $36 and that box weighed in around 15 pounds. I did not ship the case because it was too bulky and too heavy.

No, it's trash-mount, as in "already been hauled to the landfill". Fear not, tree-huggers, as they have a separate bin for metal items and by now that case is likely part of someone's new Camry.

Ah no, at least not from me. That one PSU was from the quad server and went to Canada. The remaining beasts I have populating my garage are all single chip systems that were used as CAD stations where I used to work. I have no idea what PSU is in there, but these are not much like your typical PC. Each unit is ~ three inches high and ~24 inches on a side. They use BNC connectors for video and Sun-style keyboard/mouse connectors. Heck, I haven't even opened one to see what HDD is in there, but given the age it's likely ~1 Gig. Next time I go to the dump, them babies are going too.

the trannie cooler I have is an aluminum 4 pass type. I think its just like what you have already. It is only about 1 in thick and fits 2 120 mm fans on it.

mine only holds one 120, so I will keep you in mind, but for now I will keep looking for a heatercore.

FYI, I received the heatsinks yesterday. Nicely packaged!

Thank you WireX.

As my PIF, when I complete my airtrap article and it's posted, I'll build one for someone, custom made (Shipping not included).

glad it made it their ok, but how long did it take you to cut through like 8 layers of tape>?

hehe. That and the q3 gold box.
Anyway, PIFing does work, so like I said, post anything you think you could give away.

Bump.

I'm getting to use the RAM sinks, and it reminded me about this thread.

My article was never published, but I'm ready to start building a second revision of the same airtrap (smaller ).

In the meantime, I'm PIF'ing out the old larger one!

So here it is, my airtrap.

This includes the built airtrap, your choice of 1/2 or 3/4 barbs (with adapters), the top cap and adapter, and heck, I'll even throw in the mounting flange, complete with gasket (but not the 1/2" bolts).

$5.00 . (PayPal or cash!). It's packed and ready to ship, same day.

Anyone?
