I know this has been asked before, but i couldnt find anything after a search so, anyway, what is the best radiator for dual 120mm fans? I have my eye on either the innovatekinnovatek or the black ice2 (sorry, cant find a good link), or is there one that is even better. Cash is sorta a concern.
Any advice is apreciated

Have you thought about using a car heatercore?...
Is the Bi2 the 'single thickness' rad?, if so why not just use a BiX, are BIX2's on the market in the US yet?... The fittings on the innova rad are small push fittings, I **think** they have a weird 'NPT' thread as well that's non too easy to find ![]() |

I must have a dual fan radiator, i guess I will look into using a car oil cooler or something, if I can get it cheaper.
Thanks for the suggestion though...

You can do a search by size (240mmx120mm for example) in the Radiator Database in that thread...
If money is no obstacle try an Abyss rad from OverClockedPC (OCPC) , they only sell in the UK though so you'd have to ship it... |

its not that i am disgusted by the fact that everyone who starts with WC wants BI. (i speak out of experience, there was a day i wanted em too, and on the belgian WC forum ppl love BI all the way too) i am just surprised and wonder what kind of marketing they are using...
let me put it bluntly. if u have money to burn and want a mediocre performing rad (relatively alot of airflow has to go through to get top cooling). so if u r the big OC'er prepare for some nice decibels (no delta stuff, but still) , or high temps (50 ish). btw, why get a dual fan BI if u can get the same job done better with one fan? HC's are the way to go, if u want easy mounting, get one at DTEK, at 1/4!!! of the price of BI, and alot better performance. http://www.procooling.com/reviews/ht...on_1_-_8.shtml the one i mention from DTEK is called bigmomma in this review

A dual core is ~$28 anyway in the US that sells car parts. And its NOT an oil cooler, those tend to perform a good bit worse. Not sure why you'd get anything else, unless you have a tiny case. But then, why would you want a dual fan model?

i personally prefer and use car-Radiators too, but if you want a commercial one check the new series from watercool.de (HTF-seriest, its a german site but maybe somebody here speaks german) out - i think they're very nice...

Here's a heatercore that should work for ya.
Its 9.5"x6.125"x2" $20.39 at Advance Auto Parts. If you have one of these stores locally, most of the cores they don't have in stock, but can have them the next day. If none local you can order from here: http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDeta...0&SpecialType= |

What's the flow through it like? Is it very restrictive? What are the sizes of the inlet/outlet? |

It isn't very restrive ,inlets and outlets are both about 15mm .I would say it has about the same surface area as an average heatercore as it is nearly 12" * 6" *1" thick instead of 6"*6" *2" .I assume that is the size of the average heater core. My reasoning for going for a thin rad is that it won't be too restrictive for air going through it .

Well, honestly, I probably wont be doing any extreme overclocking, my goal is just to make my computer run silently (or very close to it) if you look at my plexi case design here i have it so that the two 120mm fans in the front draw air in to make sort of a "wind tunnel" in the case. It seems to me that it would work best to just throw a rad in behind them. I suppose i could redesign it, but since it is going to be clear plexi, i would rather have a nice looking radiator (I know...thats stupid) Seriously though, its looks and noise that are important to me, not exactly performance.
