Are ALL UV dyes the same ? ? ?

Hi,
i'm was wondering if they are different depending on where you get them....
I saw them everywhere...some places like D-tek carry different kinds of the same color with prices ranging from 9 to 15 $....
Does it matter -> cooltechnica,DDen,CaseETC,D-tek???
I want the brightest green glow....
any suggestions...

I noticed that some uv dyes are made for different applications. Some are for oil based products, transmissions, airconditioners, fuel systems, power steering. Make sure that the one you get is for water applications. Frankly as little dye needed to color a setup, it shouldn't change the properties of the water, but an oil based dye would mees you up.
Also, you will pay out the nose for "cooling" websites and uv dye. Just get the stuff they repackage from the leak detection stores.

DangerDens's resold dye .. bottom of page..

The real question would be This KIT .. I think I want to try this. Anyone have any cautionary words?

I am new at uv dye myself. Any correction to my understandings are welcome.

It should be almost the same.

It'll be green or orange (usually green).

Winewood: I tried the A & I site, but they only sell it in a pack of three, for $10.25, and they want $5.00 shipping. They don't specify the color.

Hello All, Heres another place that sells these products. They have a sample kit for $19.95 that contains 4 - 1oz bottles of concentrated UV dye invisible blue, deep blue, bright yellow, bright orange. All water based dyes not oil based, plus you can mix them to make custom colors, yellow + blue = green, orange + blue = purple, yeah purple, thats for me, that should look good under the UVs. Good stuff! mixes at 1 gallon per 2'200 !!!

Anyone want to get in on a group purchase of a pint? That's 16 oz... The pint costs $25.90 plus shipping. I'm thinking about the invisible blue. PM me, and I'll start a new thread in FS/FT, if there's enough interest. C'mon people, you can resell it on other forums!

Hello All, There you go BigBen, I've told some of my buddies in other forums up here in the Northeast, I thought I'd get the 4 pack and blend the colors they want, enjoy. They have UV paints too that I used on various bits and pieces in my kids LAN rig, it looked pretty sharp. Regards, Szandor
