Default Weird, Temps lower at Load than Idle.

OK well this was not the case until just about a week ago.
Whats different, well the purple ice that is in the system has formed some sorta clear white coating, thats the only thing that I see different.

The system is a 2100+ running at 2150 mhz right now at 1.7volts, 205fsb. I back off the higher overclock a little to see if that made a diff, nope.

Room temp remains between 80-84 degree. Phoenix, AZ.

Im getting 38C during idle and 36C during load at 81C room temp.

Whitewater cooled.

How do you test the "load" temp? Are you giving it enough time?

You can have a more accurate picture by monitoring your water temp, with a gool old fashioned thermometer.

Im using Epox's USDM. I have used that always, not saying that its right but it does work and it knows when something is getting hotter or cooler.

I kind of think of a car, when you sit at a stop light in the summer your engine starts to get hot and when you start driving it cools off.
But that cant be true for water cool systems because you have the same pressure and flow rate all the time.

Im willing to bet that if I take my system apart and clean it out and get rid of that purple ice it will be back to normal. Higher load temps that is.

Strange

What program are you using to load the CPU?. Have you got any programs running in the background?, any automated tasks that cut in when you're not 'activly' using the CPU?. Try 'Ctrl' 'Alt' & 'Delete' to bring up the 'Close Program' box and shut everything down except 'Explorer' and 'Sys' or 'Systray' (depending on OS). You'll have a true 'idle' then...

I can't think of any other reason  ...

I recommend using MBM. I didn't like epox's program and maybe it's not reporting your temps correctly.

maybe when you are under load the system temps rise enough to cycle the psu fan to a higher speed? and that gives better cooling?

I use UT2003 to load CPU, I play it for a hour.

I usually always use 3dmark or UT2003 to load cpu.

This just started happening after I started to see this white film inside my tubes. Thats the only thing that changed.

Oh well, Im gonna clean that white film out and rinse system and try some Hyperlube and see what happens then.

What's the problem, here? It seems that if you can keep your computer from getting hot under load, then that would be a good thing!
I guess I should assume that it is pure curiosity that drives you to find an answer.

Are your sure that your motherboard doesn't have a feature that ups the cpu fan when it gets hot?
You havn't forgotten about a distributed client or anything like that running in your back ground, have you?
What are your water temp idle and under load?

No problem here, just rather curious, why?

Can I re-create this?

Anyways my temp are 80 degreeF Room temp

cpu is 38c idle and 36Cload.

My load is UT2003 and 3dmark2001se, etc.

No programs in back ground.

My computer has been built for 2 months with watercooling.
I always used the Bios and USDM to measure my temps.
Im telling ya nothing has changed, I do everything the same everyday. Then one day I saw this white film developing inside my tubes and then these low load temps appeared.
Thats it.

Just trying to find out if anyone has heard of such a thing?
Im not crazy....LOL....

Now my overclock is back up some more, Im actually seeing normal behavior at load temps. Meaning my load temps are higher than idle now.

But when I put my system at a certain Multi and 205 fsb and a certain CPU voltage my load temps are lower than idle.
That simple.

Hmmmmmmmm. its only 2-4 degree Farn. we are talking about so not a big deal but just curious.

Thanks
