Some of you have seen the thread I started someplace elce but I wanted to ask people here if they have seen any reviews of the uniblock.
Also are the barbs brass? From what I have found brass and alumunum don't mix very well, would it be suggested to rip those out and use plastic barbs in place of them? (unless someone knows where to get alum barbs) Thanks for your help! ![]() |

Welcome!
I suspected you might make the jump from OC... especially since the block came from here! Plastic would be better, yes. Couple it with a good thread sealer (Loctite, the one that's not going to dissolve the plastic), and you'd be set. Otherwise, it turns out that it doesn't perform extremely well, and certainly won't beat any of the popular commercial blocks available now, but it will get you into watercooling. I understand your budget needs, but you could do better with any copper block. |

Hmm... I don't want a crappy block. I mainly want to get a block that will cool better then my volcano 9 at full speed without all that airplane taking off noise.
I could just hold off a little bit and get a more expencive block, ![]() ![]() I know I shouldn't rush if I want it done right. Just like when I drill holes into the bottle of jack I want to use as a tank I have to be slow or I'll ruin everything. ![]() -sigh- Thanks for your input Oh- this is the system I want to shove this into... my soon to be super rig -yeah right- |

negative.
making one is for the healthy insane. ok, the material cost might not be great once you have all the tools. cheap bench drill: 50$ minimum drill bits: 10$ taps (m4 & barbs) : 40$ copper bar: 25$/meter sanding paper/ dremel discs / sealant / barbs / allen screws: 30$ minimum you might cut some corners here and there, but that is not cheaper than some of the used blocks that can be found here in the FS forum. if you are a real cheap0 i should recommend finding a used maze2 (of the veterans, who doesn't have one lying around???). it performs about as good as the first 2 - 3 blocks you would make yourself for alot more money. if you would live in belgium i would sell you mine for 20$. heck some ppl would throw it out with the trash after having acquired their WW ;-)

I was thinking about making one but I found that block and wanted to ask about it. Now I just need to find a drill press I can use... I was thinking about a design like this one pictured but before getting all the specs built I would need to find a way to make it.
The three tubes would be plugged on the end. |

Hey! who said you can post while I was typing?
![]() I'm in baltimore MD USA if anyone has any "trash" they want to get rid of. I do still think building my own would be to much invested into something that might not work. |
