if it runs stable it shouldn't be an issue, video cards run a lot hotter than CPU's, not sure on the geforce 3 cards but the FX 5900 cards temp threashold where it starts to downclock the GPU is 160C, most people report an average temp at load of 80-90C. and not that's not a typo, it is 160C not 160F.

Hey when you find a block for it, I'd like to take the stock Heatsink/Fan off your hands! I need it to cool my old POS GTS-2! I'll pay the S/H too, if you like!

srry boys i cant take a pic now (damn firewire = broken)
but what i basically mean is a block that is about 10 x 10 cm rough, so it can cover ram and ics, but no higher than 3 cm,
does it even exist?
mfpmax: that sink is taking up 2 pcis, i am using all 6 right now...

The RAM on my old Ti500 never got warm, let alone hot. The only heat it had was what radiated from the GPU. Concentrate on cooling the GPU with water. DangerDen make a GPU block that does'nt take up any slots AFAIK, it has side mounted barbs...

I think a GPU waterblock would take up 1 1/2 PCI slots then?

NO, the Dangerden linked above takes ZERO pci slots. Why are you using all six pci slots? That is crazy..... Talk about shared IRQ headaches.

I have never seen a block cover both the ram and gpu on a geforce 3 as the gpu and ram are at different levels so it would be hard to make.
The ram on my geforce 3 never got warm the gpu did so i would concentrate my efforts there.

Not really...I've had at least all 5 slots on a system full....3 devices were all using one IRQ.

Windows ME? hahahahahahahahah

Sorry, just had to do it.

Are you trying to install an OS? You need to be more specific as to your problems. Why not just boot to the Win2k cd?

I've got an aircooled block you can have if you want?. It's an original Leadtek block off of a Ti500, it's ally and covers the RAM as well as the GPU and takes up zero PCI slots. But it's shite for actual cooling, a freaking bluu orb would do as well ...

I'd go with the DD block though if you want decent cooling and can't fit an old Pentium HS on it, one of their new efforts would do the job as well, ome without the TEC & coldplate...

The RAM really does'nt get hot on Ti/GF3 cards. I don't know about 4200~4600 GF4's, but I do know I could fry a freakin STEAK! on my 9700's RAM ...
