Default FS *CHEAP* SCSI RAID All in One package

OK I got a full setup here, pretty much Plug and Play.

8x 9.1GB 7200 and 10kRPM UWSCSI HD's ( IBM and Quantum make for the drives) (there used to be 12 but I am keeping 4 of them)

1x 7 half height bay 5-1/4" Drive tower ( can hold CDROMS, DLT, HD's, hotswap racks, etc...) W/ 300watt PSU, 3 80mm BB fans, and all the front louver plates.

1x Mylex DAC960PG RAID controler. Will do RAID 0,1,0+1,3,5,JBOD, etc.... This is a Dual Channel UW SCSI RAID controler w/ 16mb EDO ram ( you can replace the chip with a 64mb peice if you want) Its 32/33Mhz PCI. Has a functional battery backup unit on it.

1x 3ft U2W rated 68pin SCSI cable

1x internal to external SCSI jumper cable ( to connect an internal header of the board to the case so you can run the external cable to it.

For random access times the array is blindingly fast, and for multiple data transfers at once. For single stream transfers the array is on par with most current single IDE drives per SCSI channel. Meaning you can get a full 80mb/sec transfer to the array if you split the drives onto both 40mb/sec channels. getting 80mb/sec of sustained physical transfer is pretty nice even in RAID5 configs.

The controller is supported in NT, W2K, WXP, and Server 2003. ( As well as Unix and Linux variants. )

Mylex support is now handled by LSI Logic ( they got bought out).

I have run this array 24/7 for over a year in this config and never recorded one array error at all. If you are looking for an extra space and want the leetness of saying you got a SCSI array, heres your chance for cheap.

A lil background... the IBM 9.1GB disks I paid 600$ a peice for back in 1998, the Drive tower cost me 380$ back in 1997, and the controler I got for 100$ back in 2002.

I am looking to sell this as a whole setup for 280$ +Shipping (overall I think total shipping weight is close to 28 - 30lbs.) Paid via PayPal only and shipped within the US only.

And I am looking to sell it very soon. ( buying a TFT and this will help fund it) . And as far as being an honest sales geek.. its not like you guys dont know where to find me

Heres a pic of the setup:

selling it because I had a glut of IDE HD's I put in place for the mass storage I needed for some video work I do. I really dont want to sell the setup, but its whatcha gotta do I guess

Edit:

NOTICE.. I DID have issues running this Mylex board on an AOpen 845GE MAX board, but it worked fine in my Asus 845 E board, and my Tyan Thunder K7, and Tyan Thunder 100GX board. If in question let me know and I will let you know if there is any obvious reason this board wont work in your setup. Its natively supported in W2K on up.
