2 Questions, pelt power and agp insulation
Please forgive my being a noob.....I've tried searching but mostly come up with very complicated formulas o_O
1- What performance would I get from a default 16.1A 16.4V pelt (QMax 169W) if I were to run it at ~12-14V and 12A? I know this isn't ideal, but I'm not putting this on the cpu anyways. 2- How does one insulate a video card? Would putting rtv in the socket around the chip, putting neoprone on top of that, surrounding the socket with rtv and then sticking some neoprone to the back be enough? What would I stick the neoprone to the back with? |

You could rtv the socket but youd never get the card out, and itd make rma's impossible.
Dielectric grease in the socket and on the back and front of the card then neopene over that... Look here for a good guide... ]JR[ |

Woo thanks, that guide has everything for the vid card.....I'm sorta assuming that if these guys who had frost on the back of the core with just the cooling (so no heat source :/) didn't need to put insulation anywhere but directly around the core, I don't either.
Also, can dielectric grease be removed with anything other than that special cleaner? I should think something like alcohol could take it off pretty well..... |
