Things i have.. a ww block, hydro l30 a heatercore.
No i'm planing on bulding a standalone case cuz i can't fit it all into my antec sonata case. Which is better have the fan suckin the air thru the rad och blowing it thru? Also should one drain the pump or let it stand self outside the res? And then to the line. im thinking pump, block, rad, res and then around again. Could one be able to run both 230v fan and pump on same cord? How flexible is the silicon hose in general? I'll post back with some drawings of my plans. So long.

Suck - or pull arrangement for cooling the rad with a fan is better than blow- or push. Thoguh naturally a push-pull arrangement will be even better. Make sure thoguh you draw in cold air from outside the case if possible.
Could one be able to run both 230v fan and pump on same cord? if you are running straight off the mains then I see no reason why not. If they are BOTH 230v you shoudl be able to wire them in parallel easily enough PROVIDING you insulate it throughrally... mains voltage is enough to kill you. How flexible is the silicon hose in general? Changes with heat/age and use - but new you have about a 6" "turning circle" with 1/2" tubing before it starts to kink. You can prevent this by adding springs corner pieces - or something I found out recently hose clamps staggered along the length prevent kinking somewhat. And then to the line. im thinking pump, block, rad, res and then around again. Sounds fine to me. Hope this helps ~ Boli

One of my customers sent me a picture of a case that he used as a h2o case. Here is a picture of it. He also went through the trouble of wiring the whole thing using relays.

Haggis.
Yes thats more like it it looks very nice from that angle you've got more pictrues? Hmm now you made me think.. Is it better to have the res above the block which you will be supplying with water? Hehe i found my way around. thanks fo the logic names of the pics.. But still do you have more pics. 8)

Very nice indeed.. 8) thumbs up..
But what about the placing of the whole thing.. Does putting it higher than the block do any god or not?

Keeping the res as the highest point in the loop should enable any air bubbles to escape and not be trapped in your block or radiator. That's the theory anyway

You need to put some rubber grommets for that tubing. It would look totally professional. Pick some up... I used them on my external radiator when I ran my tubing in.
http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...&threadid=8117 3rd pic down. The unit looks like barf, but I HAD to test it before I painted it.

Well ive decided to go with a closed system an airtrap hurts the estetics to much.

so now i've recived all my stuff and almost finished the cads (since i making it at as a school project i need to do that) the only thing that i miss is a res. I'll see what i can pick up next week. But i'm looking for something like the one i made.
http://trifler.dyndns.org/water use ie and install edrawings to look at the files. They are very big but very nice to look at. since you can "play" with them. ps the files are big 250 and 400kb so be patient ![]()

Here is a link to my quick and dirty Web Site which might give you some ideas.
I am in South Africa where WC hardware is only now becoming available, so everything is home-made. |
