Default Build your own water pump? -ideas?

I am building a system where I want the watercooling to be both functional and good looking.

But most pumps are just plain ugly, often looking as if they are ripped out of a fishtank (And they often are)

So what are the pro's and con's of different pump designs?

(Or does someone have links to some good looking pumps?)

hmmm lets think on this topic shall we:

2 choises here i belive shaft drive and mag drive lets consider the first one.

Shaft drive means you will have to do a good job of sealing the shaft, i looked into it before and lets just say i will not trust the seal i can make myself (or anyone i know) to cool my 1.5K computer.

Other option is mag drive. well you could buy a mag drive pump and then make something out of its pieces but i am going to estimate it would cost you over $250 to make a good looking mag drive pump. Ofcourse i can trust that but why not at that point buy the Jabco pump Nexxo is using in his project on bit tech (as i recal it was somewhere around $175) or use the new swiftech pump, all signs point that its a good buy.

But you are more then welcome to try and make your own, i will for sure cheer you on
