Default Best *CHEAP* ram?

Ok, I have given up looking for BH-5 ram, so now I am looking for other memory. http://www.hardcorecooling.us/produc...00&1=201&3=665 I am very tempted to buy this stuff for the simple fact that it is cheap and probably able to attain at least 250fsb speeds that the Infinity and mobile 2500+ should be able to attain, so I was wondering if you guys thought it might be a good deal.

Sounds almost too good to be true.

but i don't know what make it is
what is it compatible with? intel or amd chipset.
lately the MB's have been rather pickey as to what ram works.
i myself have this ram on order.

Wow, that is a little bit too pricey for my taste. I just want to hit 250+fsb on a barton mobile 2500+ and a DFI infinity. These are likely the best components to hit 250+fsb, but I cant find ram that will keep up but will also suit my small budget.

Well, I just recently gave Kingmax PC3500 a try. Only $85 per 512 MB stick at newegg. 2.5-4-4-8 default timings.

I haven't had a chance to play around with it too much yet. 234 MHz was fine. 240 MHz gave some errors, but I haven't had a chance to play with voltages or other timings much yet. Also, there are no heat spreaders on the memory, so that might make a difference, too.

Also, is there a 5:4 ratio available on your mobo? If so, then the cheapo Kingmax could get you to 250 MHz FSB and beyond, as the memory would be running at 200 MHz. Reviews I've seen show that it can handle 2-3-3-6 at 200 MHz. -- Paul
