Default Cheap WC parts?

OK, I dont like compusa and I especially dont like koolance, but would these parts be alright to use in my rig?

controller:
http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...50490&pfp=cat3

chipset:
http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...568&pfp=BROWSE

fan:
http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...207&pfp=BROWSE

the fan is more expensive than the evercool (maybe not with shipping) but its quick, and if its the same thing, id probabily buy it. thats the cheapest chipset cooler ive seen and honestly I like the design much more than the others. the performance doesnt have to be steller but the size might screw up my system. finally, thats a damn cheap baybus, might be good for fan controls?

Hmm, that little chipset block looks to be the most restrictive thing I have ever seen. Plus it is aluminum. That is why it is so cheap.

What else is in your rig?

Something that small and with that small fittings cannot be good for water flow.

Generally, 3/8" ID barbs and up are preferable, those look to be 1/4". Restriction in a single block will destroy flow for the entire loop, so if you have a super powerful pump, a big open heatercore, a high pressure pump, an open waterblock, and that thing your flow will be dead, reguardless of what is in there.

Yeh, I was afraid they'd be 1/4. what I CAN use this for is a low end WC system for my K6-2...but due to the price of the radiator alone its not worth messing with.

Don't use a koolance.

I'm serious, they're not good at all. Small tube size, terrible block designs, 0 upgradability, and the cheapest parts. Sell it to someone for 200 (theyre 230+ new right?) and buy a good WW-based system, maybe even Cascade based.

Ahem....

went and got that koolance block...yeh its defiantly SMALLER THAN A P4 PROCESSOR. Nooo way it can cool anything even stabily. Also I never realized how damn small 1/4 inch is. Soo I bought a $25 spir@l and fan from dtek for $4 more, shipped. definatly returning this POS block.

I returned the block but kept the fan, so now ill have two. opened it up and noticed "evercool" on the side of it. so it IS the exact same thing. its installed (boy that was a bitch to do) and running and its a bit loud, might 7v it later on.
