after some research, I found blue LEDs run at 3.0-3.6 volts and if LEDs are run in series they distribute the voltage equally thoughout all LEDs.
so (4) LEDs per fan 12/4=3 Volts per LED since my fans are all severly undervolted (5V) the LEDs do not light up. To fix this I wired the LED group seperately to the 12V line and the lights are back on. |

You're running them without a series resistor? If so, you're lucky you didn't burn anything out.
