Default Quick vid card cooling question

Hi all!

I am planning on water colling my Radeon 9700 Pro and was curious as to how much a jump in temperature should i expect? According to MBM the CPU is 39C idle and can get up to 50C when playing a game like UT2K3 and SimCity 4.

The cooling in my case is not the greatest because it's a small case (Lian Li PC35). It'll be hooked up with the CPU in a Koolance EXOS.

Thanks for any replies!

Depending on your entire cooling system and how your route the water through your system.....I would estimate anywhere between .5-3C.

That is a rought guess without knowing anything else. If you gave me some more details, I could probably give you a better answer. Details like, Are you running the GPU cooler parrallel to the CPU cooler or in series?

I'll be running the GPU block in series with the CPU block (after the CPU of course! ) and that's all. Umm... the CPU is a 3GHz and nothing is overclocked (for now).

Thanks for the reply!

I would then speculate that you will get about a 1C increase in your overall CPU temps.

Of course, if your GPU block is very restrictive, your temps will probably go up even more due to slowing down the flow of water through your entire system.....

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply!

I got put the GPU waterblock on an hour ago and it's working out pretty good. I don't really see a difference in idle temps. It was a real pain getting the stock HSF off the video card.

Thanks for the reply!
