Default Can anyone send me CNC files?

So many good designs out there, so little time...

I have access through a friend to the two CNCs my school has, so i was thinking of making a few waterblocks myself. All you people have put so much time and effort into designing blocks that it seems a waste to not have all those designs public.

So can anyone tell me what to look for wrt specs of the CNC so you can tell me whether your files would work? My friend tells me there are many different languages for CNCs. I can find out which one my school uses and if anyone has files of that particular format, maybe they can send me the files.

Your reward? Well, it isn't much, but i could probably get a block or two made and send it to you FOC.

This is also a great idea for someone who's always wanted to CNC a block but never had access to a CNC machine.

So what do you think? If you guys like, we could even have a small webspace up with the plans for different blocks (freely accessible or not is up to you)

Thanks for reading!

What kind of machines are they?
What controllers?
What is the range of cutter sizes you have to work with?
Can you post a (small) sample of the G-code used for these machines?

Some of us prefer to keep our designs original and private....
I , personally, dont want to see 50 variations of my blocks posted all over the internet. This is why I dont post them.......but Im a stingy ba$tard though

Hey! Just the kind of person I've been looking for I have a custom evaperator for my direct-die phase change cooling system that needs milling. It's the only thing left for the system and I've been waiting for machine time from anywhere for around 3 months now. I use Autodesk Inventor, but can convert to most any format. PM me if you're interested in doing one for me (its a pretty simple design, could be done on a manual mill but I dont even have acess to that).

Direct die? Phase-change?

Err sounds a little more hardcore than i'm willing to go

I'll let you know if i can get easy access (ie i don't have to bequeath my first-born).

Looking for a waterblock in the meantime

I am also willing to do the same type of deal. I have access to several CNC Machines and EDM. If you are interested, send me a PM, all I need is shipping and handling
