looks like swiftech has a new wb out.. don't have any links to reviews yet... any chance you're on that pH?
they're claiming results ~2c better then the 5000's

It's a shame they didn't use an outlet with larger inside diameter. Generally looks like a nice block.

well, they kinda did, considering the inlet tapers to induce a higher water velocity at the center. I would be willing to bet that it's the same ID inlet as the 6000 (3/8" version). the outlet is a larger diameter, so i suppose less head loss? more realistically though, it's just more convenient for the majority of enthusiast watercoolers out there, who use 1/2" ID tubing.

about reviews, I kinda wish swiftech was like dangerden, who seem to be handing out TDX's to any reviewer who wants one. TDX has berely been out a week and most who are interested already have a general idea of not only its performance, but also other stuff that are of interest to the consumer, like mounting and other issues. the MCW-6000 has been out for a some time longer--and nothing. I already made a post in the thread concerning pimprig's TDX review about how some watercooling companies may prefer quantity over quality in reviews of their products, and swiftech may be more noble than to just hand out samples to any old site, but I would be willing to bet that the TDX has already made more sales than the MCW-6000 has (simply because noone knows anthing about it).

but I'm just assuming, i have no clue

just wishing to see reviews of it (or even a user's personal review on a forum), that's all

I don't have one yet because I still test with AMD SocketA. I have a feeling that whenever their socket A mounting adapters come in that I'll get a block soon after.

I thought it was compatible with everything? So does any water flow through the end opposite to the outlet? If not, it seems kind of wasteful.

Compatible yes. WITH the proper mounting pieces. At any rate I am finishing up the Dangerden nozzle testing and JayDee's block this week and kinda hope I dont see any more wbs in the mail for a week or two

Yes, yes, taper on the inlet is wonderful, no taper on the outlet is great, dozens of previous threads, etc, etc.

Compare the wall thickness of a piece of copper water pipe with the wall thckness of the outlet in the picture. Give me the block and a few minutes on a lathe, and I'd make the inside diameter of the outlet large.

i'd be willing to bet that the ID of those barbs are no less than that of most brass fittings used. and still, even if it was made larger, i doubt it'd make much an impact on performance. and, even with a lathe, appears tricky to accomplish

but still something worth looking into, would always like to know
