Nothing to contribute but that looks like water cooling aimed at girl geeks to me.

It would probably be pretty effective with a 20+ gal aquarium.

Wait wait... so it is a waterfall onto a heatsink then into an aquarium???

So the base of the heatsink is in the aquarium and tries to lower the ambient temp of the water in the aquarium?

But the water from the cooling loop is constantly being dripped/blown onto the heatsink?

Is it just me or does the heatsink seem pointless?

And uh did anyone click on the "More Fun" tab from the swf?

Adding Ice Cubes = Cooler
Raising Fish = More Aquarium
Anti-Counterfeit = Richer?

Is this some really late april fools joke or something?

It's basically a mini-evaporative cooling solution.

I liked how on their diagram the figures add up to 0.24, yet for their total they have 0.34, which makes it look oh so much worse than 0.19 for their setup.

I read a thread on Google newsgroups about a guy that Sealed up his machine with silicone glue, pured about 2 gallons of tap water into his case, and turned on the computer. It blew up. The guy got on the newsgroups and started cussing everybody out because he thought water cooling meant putting waterin your case to cool the machine off. He was stupid.

Perhaps someone should tell him that to bring the computer back to functionality he needs to "reset" the power cord by licking it a couple of times while plugged into the wall. Wait and see if he posts again...

Whole thing was a joke. The guy was a regular at that same forum and was posting in another thread about real watercooling stuff at the same time the joke thread was going on =)

Believe some of the admins were pretty annoyed at it because it got so much attention. Some people were registering accounts like "YourMembersAreDumb" just to post in that thread calling him a dumba__.

I am actually glad to hear that. To think that someone would do that...is amazing, especially when it takes so much work to "accomplish" such a feat!

I've always wanted to believe this was a joke. Nobody could be that stupid. But then there once a guy that thought his race of human was better than everybody else and went out and kill several million people beacuase of it.

Heh heh... When I was in the US Army I worked in the Division Data Center. We fielded a bunch of Burroughs minis. One day a unit clerk was on sick call, and his section Chief didn't want his metrics to suffer, so he was trying to get daily transactions onto a floppy to bring up to the next higher headquarters. He called to report problems with the hardware, specifically that the 5-1/4 floppy drive would not read or write a disk. After a few moments it was determined he was exspending considerable effort removing the actual disk from the vinyl jacket before inserting it into the drive.

Not cooling related, but none-the-less pertinent. When you design, consider that no matter how simple you make the operation of a device, someone can make it complicated in ways you never dreamed.

So back to the topic of this Jefi thing. I am a little surprised that Global Win would make something like this. I always thought they had there foshizzle together as some of there air-based coolers always did fairly well. Now this? Perhaps the real problem is in how they market it. Or perhaps it started as a good idea that got modified by some industrial designer hell bent on aesthetics and pastels.

Then again I may just be jealous that I didn't come up with a PC watercooling fish tank first. Yeah that's it. So any ideas what’s next?
