Default die sim part two

i now have aquired a fluke 2190a thermometer for my planned die sim, i also have all the metals and machenery needed to make a die block. so the only thing im missing the heaters and i have a catalouge full of em.

i got this fluke 2190a offa ebay link and am bidding on this fluke 2300a scanner/switch for it linky .

now i want to check the calibration or possibily recalibrate it if needed and probably need a manual for it but everywhere ive seen one they are charging money for em.

now ive noticed there are a few people here that use one of these and was wondering if anyone could tell me waht to do with it? and what type and where i should put my thermocouples once i finish my die block.

also waht would a good die shape be? im assuming it should have a contack patch of about 100-110mm2?

thanks
-Ray

I've now just realised someting...
Its going to be rather difficult to take down all teh readings by hand, is it possible to hook this up to a copmuter mabe to record the data off it? preferabily without shelling out more cash for some sort of data logger?

There will probably be a way to hook it up to a maxim(?) and log it through mbm

Im sure someone more learned will come and explain it properly though.
