Default Slacking?

Sorry for the lack of new content guys; real world is about to trample me underfoot. I got MMZ TimeLord's Pro/Geeks article about 2/3 formatted tonight though and should finish it soon. Another Procooling reader (talcum) has sent me a nice writeup comparing the new Swiftech MCR-120 radiator and radiator box to an MCR-80 radiator in their small system. That one will be much easier to format. I did get another couple runs in on incoherent's wb too so hopefully I'll post that this week as well. It would be some kind of record if I posted 3 articles/reviews in a week I think.

I teach 3 classes this fall, my position is up for review, and it's grant season again. There is the distinct possibility that this means Procooling will have to sit on the back burner until mid-September as far as serious time-consuming stuff on my part goes. Sorry but "thems the breaks".

I can't believe no one's commenting on this.

If it's ok with incoherent I am going to keep his wb for a bit and use it for some CPU W estimations (since he's done similar with this wb and his "fluxblock"). The choice of wb SHOULDN'T matter but might as well have one less variable in the testing right?

His big project that included a GPU wb, hdd cage wb, PSU wb, and a neat reservoir/pump solution. It's a massive amount of images so far heh.

I accomplished a TON at work today though. Some days I surprise myself lol

I'm sure there would be people around here that would be willing to 'share the load' as it were, if you had anything that they could do; something to think about, if you feel bad about not updating as often.

Personally, I don't care in the slightest - if its starts becoming a stress, just stop for a while. Noones going to think badly of you; you do enough (excellent) work for 'free' that if anyone complained, I'm sure we'd all crack out the pro-cooling lynch mob sticks You dont deserved to be stressed over the free work you do; thats just wrong.

pH, they're right when it stops being a hobby and starts being a flame-war filled job, take a break. Noone will think worse of you - you've got a real life and job beyond this.

I, for one completely understand. pH, your productivity is practically unrivaled, and the very least we can do in gratitude is show some patience so you can tend to the important things in RL.

So thus my vote of encouragement and my hope that it all goes superbly.

haha.
My concern is not the amount of content on this site but making sure it stays at a high quality.

I feel I could be doing more useful things than continuous wb testing but haven't completely hit upon WHAT that would be yet (past the Cooling Myths update that is)

Some really good user-submitted content will be posted this week; that isn't the problem either.

In fact I don't think there IS a problem (hosting bill is in check, I have plenty of money to finish testbed, and my morale is good).

Was just giving you guys an update. Thanks for the support

I am curious and a little worried about this hosting bill thing. What happens if (and more likely when) this gets exceeded?

years ago I ran a test of drinking vs. bowling, what a dive in the score - over and over
almost led to the conclusion the drinking was causal

MMZ>Timelord's writeup will be the death of me yet. Just formatting it looks like it will take 3 days...then I have to go back and clean up the writing (lots of tense changes throughout the howtos). It's pretty impressive work though and should be worth my effort to get it on the site.

I just finished a article about DIY tools and some tips I will send you to look over. Still pretty basic though.

1 step forward and 2 steps back
HDD death in my new T41P notebook (under 3 months old!)
All recent work activity is gone

I think the only Procooling stuff to be lost was a second installment of "5 Cooling Myths" about half written and the test data for anything posted in the last 3 weeks. I DID have a dvd-r backup prior to that at least. I'll have to sort out what is gone tomorrow.

Apparently IBM notebook hdds are no better than their desktops :/

did you miss Cathar's chiding me ?
all hdds may fail at any moment, design the system/activities accordingly

$2500 if the disk drive has to be rebuilt to read the disk, ~90% recovery on my disk
quickly you will assess what your time is worth

Any personal stuff lost? I had some recent family photos of the amusement park trip on the HDD when my HDD died... Wife got pissed and I was in the dog house for a short while. I now put all my "critical data" on a CDR after each download from my digital camera More important than any work or hobby stuff IMO (actually my wife's opinion)

"The uni" springs for very little; even voicemail and the blue recycling can had to be paid for with a grant account. I COULD get everything back if I dropped the $$, but by the time it was returned deadlines would be past and I would be SOL anyway. There is ONE document due Aug 15 that I do not have external backups for and will have to rebuild.

I lost a little more as far as Procooling goes; that Myths article was maybe 4 pages of text. Any MAX6655 readings and spreadsheets between last backup and when I began using the new Labview PC for diode readings are gone so I don't have .txt or .xls files. I think that's PROBABLY the r-type and MCW6002 and not anything else. I can always dig the data points off your graphing page though

No personal stuff on my notebook; I keep that on a desktop PC and regularly back up to a second hdd.

That IBM hdd was under 4 months old :/ A 60 gb 7200rpm notebook drive. I am going to snag another notebook hdd from the computer store today I think so I am not without a work PC for an entire week. JOY
