well then, from personal experience....
loudness... not terrible, but not silent. i reccomend some sort of vibration reducing pad underneath. warmth... not sure, had an 80mm fan blowing over it, barely warm to the touch. reliability.... mine failed after 8 months of intermittent use. was not happy considering people have had eheims running for 5years straight with no problems. in short, i was disappointed. i thought that the L30 was a better deal than the eheim 1250. perhaps the old saying, you get what you pay for applies. ps, it can be submerged... |

In my opinion it is crap. It might be just a one off but for me the pump could not maintain it's rated head and would rattle very loudly. At 0 head it was almost inaudible but as soon as I put a highish load on it, the impeller would slam and slap. Gluing the impeller helps.
On the other hand, the Hydor Seltz S30 is the best pump have ever used. Dead quiet, P/Q comparable to a Eheim 1048 at 1/3 of the size, has survived freezing, being dropped and generally abused. If I could find another one I would use two, they are no longer made I think. So I don't write Hydor off. |
