Is the MCP 350 powerful enough for this setup?

Hello to all! This is my first post here on the procooling forums. Some of you may know me as Saleen from the VR Forums. I have been running the following loop for the past year (MCP600->MCW5000->MCW50->Black Ice Ex II). I am now planning on upgrading. This is the loop I plan on building:

MCP350->MCW6000->MCW50->Black Ice Pro III (mounted via rad box outside the case)->reservior

My concern is that the Pro III is a four pass radiator and thus will put alot of strain on the pump. I'm aware of the fact that it has 13ft. of head but I still don't know that it has enough power to maintian adequate flow rates. If I have to I could put my old mcp600 in line between the mcw50 and the black ice pro III. Let me know what you think and thanks in advance.

this may not be the 'sales pitch' but, I like things simple
there will not be a noticeable difference between the pumps, so why buy a new one ?
in any case try first with the MCP600, and if the $ are still burning a hole in your pocket go for the MCP350

do let us know how the real world sees the difference

Thanks unregistered. Seeing your ties to swiftech, I'd think you'd know best. Can I take it that either pump is powerful enough for such a setup (positive yes)? Anyone else have some input? Thanks again, and I will let you know if there is a difference (I was planning on getting the mcp350 anyways, that 50,000hr mtbf makes me feel all warm inside )

Why would you want to replace the MCP600 ?

If you *DO* end out going for the MCP350, I call dibs on the MCP600!

FYI, all current Black Ice PC radiators are 2-pass not 4-pass

The advantage of the MCP350 is not going to be performance, in this case. I believe it would be the level of noise.

I'm still lusting after MCP350's, but I probably need to sell some stuff first.

I ordered the Black Ice III two days ago from cooltechnica. I believe that the description mentioned that it was four pass. I looked at it carefully and thought to myself "man... that must of been a pain to turn that sucker into a four pass". Also seeing that the Extreme III is two pass made me wonder more still. The primary reason for replacing the MCP600 is reliability as I have one of the first (I recall something about it having problems with its impeller... too lazy to look). I'm not bashing it in the least. It is a great pump and has served me well (hell I will probably put it in the loop as I described above). A close second for replacement is noise. A third is space. The MCP600 had to be mounted on the top of my HD cage (Lian li 6070). The MCP350 will fit in the drive cage.

Seeing that the Pro III is double pass makes me feel better. I'm going to post a thread soon detailing my concerns as to why I didn't think it was powerful enough for the whole loop (my own little theory about pump head). Thanks for the input guys

Thanks for the heads up
pro III is 2-pass just like all other Black Ice radis.
