Default all good things come to an end

its been fun, mostly, but its time to move along - or at least shut up
with regret I am ceasing my forum posting activities to preclude 'the unauthorized release of company information'

I can still be contacted in the normal ways, I'm just mute

Wow. I doubt anyone expected this. I've only been a procooling a short while and every minute I have enjoyed your posts and the information they provide. Thanks for sticking around as long as you did mate.

Haven't we been through this before?

I hope that at least Procooling is on the short list for product announcements

We're going to miss you...
I hope you weren't punished for giving us too much hints; I enjoyed your posts very much.

Too bad you never posted those MCP350 changes you were mentioning; I don't expect many manufacturers will give us those small interesting details we want to know. Again, I don't hope you got into any trouble because of telling us this kind of news.

And now I'll probably never see any results of that MDG-M2S115S8...

Bullshit. Total bullshit.

That's what it reminds me of, anyway. We'll miss you, Bill.

Well, I hope you can still drop by from time to time. This community has gained a lot of knowledge from you. A lot of it is still present, here in the forums ... but offcourse it needs to get updated... You can still do that, right?

Well I've long thought that your comments on pumps and pump design/life span have been enlightening for us but bad for your company. I understand where things are coming from on Swiftech's part as far as that goes. But I really think that the visible "we have an engineer who knows wtf he's talking about" image that Swiftech gets out of your participation in the less specific forum threads is pretty valuable?

Exactly what I reckon actually; I'm sure its one of the reasons procooling is popular.
Nice to hear info or advice from someone who works on this for a living, 'lives the life'.

> less likely to hear bullshit spouted by someone who is merely speculating but trying to show it as fact (ie testing methods etc)

Definitely one of the reasons ive kept coming here. Hell, theres only a list of 10 or so posters that have kept most of us here, im sure, and perhaps 6 of which are the 'big players', hah.

WHOS GUNNA KEEP BB2K IN LINE, HUH?!

I regret your not being able to interact on the forums, Bill. It is a pleasure to hear your perspective on many of the issues we face in the field. However, I totally understand why Swiftech would not want to lose any competitive advantage by inadvertently leaking proprietary information.

Take care,
Brian

Well, it's the second big bump on the road for the watercooling community.
First you went to Swiftech, and all activity (critical reviews, and discussion - i personally consider it the best times ever) ceased (normal, due to your new responsabilities), and now this.
Not that people are irreplaceable, but it comes at a time when the Procooling site seems to be in a deep sleep (the last review is dated from 11/2004), and forum users seem to be slowly diminishing.
What pisses me off, is that this kind of measures are taken as a "last resource", which may mean that there's been many times when someone has tried to get you back to the "coral" - and you didn't.
On the other hand it seems a self-imposed action (maybe because you know it would be difficult to restrain yourself from some comments).

Bill, take a "sabbatic year" and then come back.

IMHO, Bill and his "grumpiness" is a major reason why the info here at p/c is so good. I'll miss your comments a LOT...
Here's hoping we'll be hearing from you "through other channels" - one channel being my willingness to buy the beers if you get to the Boston area

I think he'd get an offer for a free beer from MANY people. That counts for me too, Bill. Bill, if you're ever in the Portland, Oregon area, I'll gladly buy you a beer or three.

So... could this departure from posting have something to do with Swiftech's going public?
