This is a block I decided to tryout. Haven't had the chance to test yet, but hope it performs better than my zalman. I already have a few ideas on improvements, perphaps some of you can share yours.

Very nice, I bet that gets really good temps. Havnt seen anyone make a delrin top for a DIY block yet. Id kill for those kind of tools

Wow! Thanks for sharing that!
There goes someone that knows their way around machining stuff! Construction was flawless. The only critic I'd have is about the polishing; it might leave a residue on the flat surface, which could interfere with the heat transfer. Someone recently reported that they "baked" their block, until this deposit just boiled off. I wouldn't recomend that, because the heat might end up warping the block. Instead, I'd use what Bill suggested to clean a block: xylene (or any solvent that's capable of cutting through wax-like substances). |
