Default Copper/Silver Ionizers algae bacteria killers??

I know that some of you are using UV nasty killers. Especially usefull to people using evaporative cooling. The add heat to the water though.

I fond info on Copper/Silver Ionizers that kill nasties by putting ?positive? copper silver ions into the water:

Floatron

Positive ions do not sound good as far as block corrosion is concerned?? Then I found this, which looks promising:

Some products seem to add ions simply by having the metal present in the water:

Nature 1
Frog

While all thes products will help to kill nasties, I was hoping that they would also help prevent corrosion???

I will look into this further later, but am hoping for soome independant research from more qualified forumers.
