I just bought this heatercore:
http://www.voyeurmods.com/index.php?...=2&prevstart=0 also a mcp 655 pump. I decided to go with that monster core instead of waiting 3 weeks for weapon to make me a monstercore. Anyways heard of any reviews of this giant ass rad? or opinions? |

Well I would ask, do you really need that much cooling power? Also a Black ice extreme 3 or a thermochill 120.3 might do better with less space used.

Bigger allows slower fans for same effect.
Fin density may not be suited to this task though like new QP series or PA series. In the end, though, more fans means it will win. TEC goodness?

I am still trying to find the best compromise between the noise and performance for the following rig.

nice post alex, Mine will be a lot like that only not as tall and made of acrylic and aluminum.
Just got my alum in today, its really nice quality form onlinemetals.com as far as cooling, I'll be using 4 evercool Aluminum fans, 79cfm at 35dB each. They'll be on a noise isolater fan controller. I'll take some initial pics. But I'll be making a full worklog as soon as I start. ![]() ![]() oh ya, I am planning on this watercooling project to cool my future rig I'll pirchase i nthe spring when socket M2 and maybe when r600 is out. if not r580 will due ![]() Havne't decided on TEC cooling the cpu yet but I have plenty of time. I certainly hav ethe heat transaction ability with that radiator to cool a 300watt+ tec as well as a GPU block. Just depends if I want to insulate my motherboard socket area against condensation and purchase a meanwell PSU for like 90$ Really though? what will tec vs just plain waterblock net me? Maybe say go from 3ghz dual core .65nm AMD64 to 3.2ghz? I am unsure. Last edited by Unoid; 11-21-2005 at 05:08 PM. |
