I have been noticing users complaining for the coolant Zalman provides.
Users complain over the horrendous smell from the coolant. In a matter of fact I haven't opened my bottle yet, it still sealed. Even although it sealed it smell tremendous when sniffing it. ![]() Anti-Corrosion Coolant (ZM-G100) This coolant contains a high quality anti-corrosion agent for various materials including copper, aluminum, and plastic, that prevents corrosion for long term operation. - Material : Ethylene Glycol & Anti-Corrosion Agent - Weight : 500ml - Freezing Point : -9¡ÆC - Exchange Cycle : 1 year I have noticed this coolant in my local store http://www.redlineoil.com/products_coolant.asp is it recommended? |

Many people have found WaterWetter to be unsuitable for our application. It seems that it coats surfaces with some agent affectionately
![]() The pump used in your reserator is very low powered, consequently I would not recommend using an additive that raises the viscosity of your coolant very much at all. I would try the stuff that comes with the reserator. If it stinks too much when using it, ask again. If it were me, I would lose the pump in the reserator, and put a DDC in-line (in case). Then use a more tried and true mixture of anti-corrosion agents.

Do you say it's enough with Ethylene Glycol and destilled water and not using anything else?
never mixing metals, I don't get that? |

Mixing metals, e.g. aluminum and copper, is a prescription for galvanic corrosion. Corrosion will occur if there is a defect in the aluminum anodization. The rate at which it will occur and to the extent it will occur, I will not hazard a guess.
There are members of this forum who are much more qualified than I to explain the process of galvanic corrosion and what preventative measures to take to guard against it. I will say that using aluminum in a loop with copper is dangerous and should be treated with caution. I will not advise you to do anything other than what your Reserator manual says you should do. I will only tell you what I have done or would do. I have always just used a mix of appx. 25% anti-freeze and 75% distilled water and have never had aluminum in my loop and have experienced no problems. Search the forums, you should be able to find pictures of galvanic corrosion of blocks that are made with copper bases and anodized aluminum tops.

You know, those chemical can cause cancer, as such, you are not suppose to sniff it in the first place.
Redline is good, good brand name. If there is no smell (ask the salesman to smell it for you), go for it |

Redline Water Wetter is bad for your plumbing, i know it first hand. Deposits a slimy goo all over the tube walls and waterblock innards over time... Moreover the smell is terrible, and it contaminates eveything it touches (good luck to get rid of the smell on your hands if you touch it)

So I'm switching over to Propylene Glycol, it's said it doesn't contain any toxics. |
