Interesting the Derlin one.
Rest, baseplate very similar to the Alphacool's, so no "major" works there.
Still, always nice to have choices.

Well not saying I have these blocks in hand but I can say the pics don't do them justice.

MP-1 GPU & IceFloe.

Pulling pics from the same source, these pics seems better,

It is the MP-1 CPU not GPU.

IMHO the slots are not a good thing. Just a place for cracks to start, not that delrin is prone to cracking but still.

It isn't going to crack. That is one solid chunk of delrin. It is 5/8" thick over all with over 1/4" below the slits. If that thing cracks someone hit it with a 10lb sledge.

I've seen people use a 3 lb ball peen on their comp! I just closed my eyes and walked away.

I'm not saying it will crack. Any hole, slit, change in thickness, etc. is a place for cracks to start. Just from a design standpoint why even take the cnc time to put them there.

I hear you but I would not hesitate to use the block (and will be, could already be ). I see no chance of it cracking if used properly or even harshly. I am thinking it may have been more for weight removal. They may have been trying to make the weight of it with in the specs from AMD and Intel or something.

It's not that heavy, really. A normal brass top can beat the weight anytime. The MP-05 SP LE is already heavier. But I've got no idea what the slots are for. Maybe they offer more 'flex' for the top?

Yeah I agree. It is a light block. I also have the WWLE and MP-05SP/LE. However I am not sure those blocks were specifically designed to meed weight requirements. If the water cooling industry has any hope of main stream they need to make the water blocks conform to mounting standards set by the CPU manufacture.

With that said even the WWLE and MP-05SP/LE maybe lighter than some of the new big copper air coolers.

It may very well be the slits are just for looks. Either way it doesn't hurt anything and adds seconds to the mill process. Hardly adding to the cost.

Yes, I agree. The slits break the monlithic of the block. Otherwise it would look like one massive solid piece.
