No numbers (temp/OC) yet, I'm still leak testing.
I'm shooting for as quiet as rig as possible.....I may have to further insulate the pump and downvolt the fans. Once I scrounge a spare mounting plate and trim it, I'm going to remove the IHS. The cascade fits snugly within the OE HSF plate, securing and aligning it, but it just sits too high off the die even with the IHS in place. Other details: Antec 2650 case, Phantom 350 passively cooled PSU, DFI infinity nf4x, Sempron64 revE 2800+, x800 vanilla and a gig of crucial. A Criticool powerplant is hiding back there too. The fans are metal framed 38mm thick Sunon 2123XST, 230 VAC, run at 110v. I'm shooting for at least 2800MHz, but I'd really like to see a full 3GHz. It was $76 at newegg. Dig my ghetto antacid bottle/jbweld reservoir. Last edited by Ruiner; 09-23-2005 at 04:43 PM. |

Nice fans
![]() They are tremendously thick. Have you tried some noise insulation? Some cheap foam should take care of whatever noise is still there. |

I've no idea on the flow since the specs are for 220v ( http://www.alliedelec.com/Catalog/pf.asp?FN=551.pdf ).
Ferdb talks about them here: http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=17002 The case is already lined with thin foam, but it was cheaply made thin steel to start with (at least compared to my old FongKai), so there is more work to be done. I think I'll apply some peel&stick to the underside and a thicker pad under the eheim. |

An update:
The good news is my temps are good. I'm having issues with the board and/or ram and can't get things stable much above 2300, especially with the ram anywhere close to pc3200 speeds. At default core, 2300MHz, temps reach 38C while prime95'ing. I'm going to mess with the memory timings and try another stick. Upping the Vcore didn't buy me any extra speed at all....it just fell flat on it's face above 295 fsb, even with a 0.5 ram divider. This may be the limit of the board. The gpu OC'ed from 381 to 480 after artifact testing with atitool. Temps peaked in the 42C range. |

Ok, my ram was a bottleneck....it wouldn't do cas 2.5 at even pc2700 speeds.
Now I'm pushing 2700 at 1.6vcore, peak temp 38F. I don't think I want to push the voltage any higher on this core. |
