Default Modding a DDC

I was having a look at some old DDC top designs and thinking I could do a just a smidge better than what is currently available now.

Few questions
  • What are the best guide and commonly regarded best practice for doing this?
  • Are there any dimensions or CAD drawings out there? Including what other people have done. It just safes me faffing with some venires and is a good sense check.
  • Whats this talk of all the versions / which one is the best to get from a testing perspective?

My current thinking is something a little different to what has been seen in watercooling before that I picked up from some turbo machinery guys (car turbos).

I liking the idea of mounting two together for EXTREME performance (would look cool but is probably a waste of time).

There are some sketchup's of it if that is enough, not sure how accurate they are though. http://scc.jazzle.co.uk/cat/47

Off the topic and perhaps stupid, how about using a PC FAN (120mm). Modding it to use it in place of a water pump. I am thinking of hacking the fins and replacing them with 'impellers'... or something.

Thanks for the links

THe sketchup stuff looks useful and that cooling-masters review is nice and geeky.

I'm doing alot of design at the moment at "proper job" so going to give this one some more thought. Have had another related to adding a DDC into a special water block in a design.
