I dont know how people think that cooler is affective. But on my system, which has a VisionTek GF2 64, the video card cannot be cooled any better than the stock heatsink and that was not even overclocked. So upset with the Blue Orb I tossed it and didnt think twice. Now I needed a HSF, so I turned to my old AMD K6-2 500 system and ravaged the cooler off of it. Its a very simple, traditional style HSF with a very small fan on it, like 50mm I think. Its made by Antec and I bought it at CompUSA for 8$, you might have seen it before its has a light blue anodizing on it. I got some quick set Auto Epoxy at WalMart and off I went. I greesed up the GPU real good with Artic Silver then I applied four small blobs of Epoxy to the four recessed corners of the GPU so the Epoxy would not interfere with the cooling. Now my only problem is that I cannot get the video card to get hot. It just doesnt, not even playing Quake3 for days on end (that is thanks to Bawls :-)). Ohh yeah and I am feeling bold and I want flame like a Slashdot kiddie, I need to get someone to argue that the blue orb works great, I also have a distaste for Thermaltake products. I perfer Alpha when I'm not using watercooling

You bastard! The Blorb let me overclock 200 mhz higher, gave 5000 more 3dmarks, and made my love life more satisfying!
![]() Nah, I like it but it mostly gets by with its looks. I prefer the tennmax coolers, you don't lose a PCI slot. Or just some excessive socket cpu cooler strapped on there, thats cool too. |
