Hi all!
I have got a plan for a liquid cooled computer that I will build this time next year, when I can afford it and have the equipment to build it. I want some suggestions about cooling and other features. ![]() ![]() Case measurements: 650mm (H) 500mm (L) 500mm (W) - (yes that is BIG but it needs to be to fit all the cooling in it) Holds 9x 120mm Sunon fans in the top of the case in a 3 x 3 combo (this is for the radiator and making sure there is enough air flow). I might use more but I doubt that I will need to. Specs:
So what you all think? I want it this big cause I can experiment with different cooling options that would be restricted due to space in a normal or large case, even the one used in the very cool DH3 project. Not to mention I really want to build the whole thing myself. Yes I KNOW that that image is of an Onyx 2. But that is the style of the design. It is an efficient design too. You may all be wondering why the heck do I need/want a computer like this? Well in a few months I will be doing allot of 3D modelling and I need a fast PC to render all the images. I actually need more than one PC, a cluster would be a better idea. But with a box like this I can set-up quad CPUs that will chew through images much faster than my current PC (a 540 Celery). And being able to OC the beast will increase the Mhz or should I say Ghz levels which will speed up rendering. I would like some suggestions about cooling or any other features you guys can come up with. I don't care how expensive they are or how uncool you think they are just post your ideas here. Thanks! How the hell did you get ahold of an SGI case? I mean jeez how much that run you? I wouldn't mine getting into one of those cases. My only questions is, how you going to mount the mainboard(s), its a bleeping SGI!!!! That isnt ATX (I dont think at least)? I would put a watercooling system in there that would put the DH3 to shame!

My only suggestion would be to put a window on the top and have frankenstein cooling tubes running along those vents near the top and such. Put some dye in it and nearly your whole comp will glow. Good luck, and sweet case you bastard
