Default Leading heat away from pelts

I never worked with pelts. Now I want to try the 12 V DC pelts for cooling my SCSI HDDs (15000 rpm). How can I lead away heat from the pelts (without any fans!)?
Thank everybody.
Leon

it'd be hard to cool the pelts without using fans. why not just glue heatsinks to the top of the hdd's and use quiet fans

Maybe it will work? To make "heatsink-pelt-heatsink-HDD"? The first heatsink (on hot side) leads heat from the pelt, the second heatsing cools the HDD. Every heatsing is a cooper one, the same size as the HDD is and, say,10mm thick?

Better yet, just have a fan blowing air over the drives. That's how I cool my Cheetahs.

Pelts on a hard drive are a bad idea, I just replied to another thread with reasons.

Heck... I had my 3 IBM's stacked in 2 large bays for 5 months without failure. Had too... didn't have any other spot to put them.

You can always just drop the HDs in a bucket of ice to keep 'em cool.
