I have the same chip in one of my machines. The easiest way to overclock your system, without unlocking it is to just increase your frequency of your bus. I got my stock xp 1.4 to 1.63 just by increasing the frequency to 155. Not too bad for a quick setting in the bios.

Yeah. I've got mine @ 1790MHz. Runs rock solid. And that's ust with the FSB upping (FSB=170MHz). I would recommend that you make sure you have adequate cooling though. That is the key. Right now, I'm pretty much at an impasse because my chipset gets too hot. I'm only watercooling the CPU right now, and have yet to unlock it. But you should be able to get a decent overclock, depending upon your cooling methods.

Hey Chazz469, you got yours to 1790! wow, thats really sweet. I only have the stock HSF on my chipset right now, and i dont have any ramsinks or anything installed, what would you recommend for cooling the chipset? I was looking at the thermaltake crystal orb for cooling the northbridge, and the passive cooling ramsink for my 512 ddr for this machine. Would that be the best for it? I can only get up to 155 freqency, and the motherboard goes to 160, but it doesnt post after 155, i have to clear the CMOS. Any ideas?
Unregstrd-- there are no other settings for the motherboard? it doesnt allow any other settings other than 133? Last edited by Acroam; 07-18-2002 at 02:30 PM. |

i can set it at 100/100, 100/133, 133/100 and 133/133 and that's all.
so could anyone please tell me what to do to be able to put the fsb at higher speeds? ---- and what about geforce 2 mx 400+tv-out overclocking? i can set the core frequency up to 250mhz and the memory frequency up to 100mhz under additional properties of the card but that's it. - could anyone also tell me how i can make this even faster (if it's possible and if it's still stable). - how to cool it best. (i'm gonna put a 80mm,34 CFM@2,600 rpm in the sidepanel and let it blow at the geforce.) -how to measure it's temp. |
