Here are the specs to the 226 watt peltier Swiftech carries.

U max 15.2v, I max 24 amps, delta T max 67c, and Q max 226.1 watts.

The delta T max isn't all that bad but I would be interested in a 220 with a 70+ delta T max. Right now I am running a 226 watt swiftech pelt with a 50 amp Astron PSU, a Maze2-1, a dangerden cube radiator and a maxi Jet 1200. I just got the systyem together so i dont really know how my temps will look. My temp probe under the CPU is blocked by the closed cell foam for condensation prevention. I have a home made SMbus adapter to read my XPs internal diode so I'll be able to get very precise temps once I solder it on. Even though the dangerden cube is a very big radiator I'm not shure its capable of getting rid of enough heat. Air temps exiting the radiator can be as much as 35c+ so I'll have to do some creative ducting so I don't fry my nic and video card. If you can wait dangerden will be getting in the 220s very soon.

with air temps being that high, I'd say your radiator is removing the heat, it's just the airflow could be a little bit higher to lower that exit air temperature

Id say either you dont know how to clamp a pelt. or your waterblock isnt on tight enough cause your afraid to break your chip. or you have a tiny fan on your rad.
or it just could be because its a swiftech.

The rig is in pieces now but I'll have decent case cooling and the air from the radiator will be ducted streight out the case so it isn't blowing over any components. Clamping is a problem since I have a .5" aluminum coldplate with flat head screws for mounting. I just went to the hardware store and picked up some hex head screws and an extra long hex key. I'm shure that will drop temperatures drasticly. I'll be moving to a .375-.5 copper coldplate as soon as I can order a bar of it. The coldplate itself should drop the temps as much as 5c. I'm aiming for 10-15c under load and I think its possible with my current setup.

let's say other way around... still we are talking about the same modules... So how come you don't recommend Cooltechnica's modules, but DangerDen's instead... I didn't get it...

BTW I'm positive that Cooltechnica is the source of the 226W pelts, and they are DDen's supplier...

i would like to know a few more of the horrow stories that people are having with the 226watt peltiers. i had almost bought the one in the swiftech kit, but i found one at BeCooling thats was 220watt that i included in my order at last minute.
http://becooling.safeshopper.com/10/121.htm?477

it doesnt say what the delta T is though....

who would have thought 6 watts could make such a difference?

I think you'll find that the horror stories are not specifically related to the 220/226W pelts.

The 6 Watt difference doesn't mean all that, it just means that the pelt was designed differently.

There's also a 260W pelt, but I don't think it's reached the mainland yet.

what horror stories r u ppl talkin about? I bought one from Jason. The only problem i have with it is the wire. It came off twice bfore one broke. then I couldnt solder it that well anymore cuz the shizzil broke. Temps i dunno if they are good or not cuz i dunno how to compare them other than comparing it to regular watercooling temps. Jason, where did u end up buying the peltier u sold me?
