Default creating res questions

Hi all!
I'm nearing the last leg of my water cooling mods! I just got to get the reservoir constructed! This is what I have:

A marine juction box (about 4x4x2)
2 1/2" hose barbs (1/2" threaded)
1 threaded 1.5" plug

questions:
1) Is there any special kind of drill bit or hole saw that can create a threaded hole? If so, where can I get?
2) The plug is the fill cap, so should I use teflon tape on the threads, just use a rubber oring, or both?
3) Is it excessive to use PVC glue to secure the lid and then use plumbers goop along the inside seam and outside seam?

That's about it. Thanks for any replies!

Wow I just finished taking pictures of my new res. Good timing.

1) Yes, its called a tap. First you drill the hole then you hand screw the tap into the hole and it leaves the threads. They're pretty cheap since all you need is 3/8 or 1/2 NPT taps and a handle. That or see if you can borrow one.

2) If it will be above water level, then don't use anything. Just screw it in a turn or two. Otherwise it may be hard to get off in a cramped case.

3) Donno.

Heres a peak at mine:

2) if you plan on opening and closing it once in a while, then use an o-ring. Otherwise, you can permanently seal it with teflon (it's not really permanent, but taking it off is the equivalent of taking it apart, not opening it up)

3)If you were confident with your use of PVC glue, then you would know that that's all you need, so no, it's not excessive for you to use the goop too.
