Im a huge Volvo fan.
![]() I saw this today on Ebay and had to have it. 5 Dollars, total 12.50 after shipping. So anyway Im sorta curious how im going to cool this thing. The fins being stacked dont seem like they would let air flow through the rad. Probly will end up making a little copper box/shroud and putting a 120 on one end blowing across/through the fins. So fire some ideas at me. What would you suggest for a shroud, mounting and fan placement. Anything you want to add or if you think im a tard for buying this fine piece of circa 1970s German cooling equipment feel free to say so as well. ![]() Later

Seller did not state but they look like 5/8th. The fitting closer to the bottom looks alittle bigger though, might just be my bad depth perception. But all the brand new ones i looked up all have 5/8th in and out. (And cost around 58-70 dollars)
![]() Oh, like one of those 12v blowers? (Or probly something alot smaller lol as 500-600cfm would be alittle overkill) Damn thats a good idea, thanks man. Keep 'em comming guys. ![]() Btw its from a '72 140 series.

Thanks, O obscure one...
That's a nice core. I used to have a Volvo, series 140, from around that year too! As for venting it, you'd probably be best off with a blower, because blowers can put out more pressure than axial fans: you'll need the extra pressure to run air through that thing. Also, if you're able to put together some kind of shroud, and seal it around that core, you'd be all set. Could you give us a front shot (pic) of that thing? We can't see the tubing at all. |

Thanks alot Ben. =)
Yeah ill get bunch of pics when it arrives, that picture was provided by the seller. So i was looking at 12v blowers last night and there is one that is rated around 105CFM @ 12v. My only concern would be the noise, but on that hand ive heard those things are pretty damn quiet. I might try sealing a tupperware container to one side(or both) and then linking the blower to it. I dunno, more theory when the thing arrives, until then Ive gotta revamp my current setup and get a digi-cam lol More updates to come, thanks for the support guys ![]()
