Should I get a higher rated pump?

Hello, this is my first post and I have a question......right now i'm using a Powerhead Pro3 pump rated at 150-260gph and i'm getting (IDLE) System: 28C CPU:34C, I was thinking of switching to another pump, the Powerhead Pro 4 which is i think rated at 270-360gph, could i get lower temps with a faster pump?

u will need to give alot more info than that, maybe your rad is at top capacity, maybe your block can't do shit with more flow...

Those are pretty nice temps. Why bother ? I'm sure you have plenty of other good uses for your money.
Is your current pump cavitating, or at its capacity limits ? Or vibrating like hell, or close to death ? If not, do not touch anything....

yeah, i always sin at gmats principle, and usually break the stuff that used to work. i can call in a couple of amd's xp's to testify that statement ;-)

This is what i'm using: Maze 2 waterblock, copper chipset waterblock, res, heatercore, and the pro 3 pump. The pump works fine and everything, but it was only a thought about getting another pump cause some people say that faster flow is better, but others say that slower ones are better because it cools better while going through the rad. not sure which one is right?
thanks for the replies though

You know, you would probably spend your money best by using a more powerful fan, even a blower, if you can fit it.

The trick is, which is hottest: the rad or the block?

If the block is hottest, I'd bet that a better pump is your next upgrade, but if it's the rad, and I bet it is, then get more airflow in there!

...or you could use the money to buy more silent elements lile a PAPST fan for the heatercore, HDD silencers, noise-killing material and so on. Oh and a GPU block.
The Maze2 is actually quite restrictive. I doubt moving to a bigger pump would yield any noticeable result.
Keep your setup, it sounds good.

34C max and you're complaining? Dude, unless you're a die-hard cooling nut, then don't worry about it, those temps are quite nice, though you could provide MUCH more info about your system so that folks can gauge what might be causing you're "problem?"

And if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it! -Big WIlly Style

Dunno, I get 30DegC idle with system at 28DegC, it may not be the pump but something could be tweaked(cause I've got two 92mms on my HC!, I know they can be tweaked )...

What size is the M2 and system?, if it's 3/8 I definatly would'nt bother, if it's 1/2inch it could'nt hurt, look for something with more head... what fans have you got running the HC?...
