I just finished building the "box" I'm going to stick my centralized cooling system in. Dude at the lumber store thought I was frickin' nuts doing what I was doing, gave me a T Square, a straitedge, and a tape measure and said "Go for sh!t." After scratching my head a bit, I measured out a 4x8 sheet of pine furniture grade plywood into sides, and 6x30" pine 2x6s, and helped him cut away. Now I have a 20"hx20"dx30"w chest with a hinged top sitting on casters. Once my radiator comes in, I'm going to front mount it (a 11"hx21"w window framed probably in that scrollwork pine for extra studliness), drill some 120mm (x5) blowholes in the back, and cut away a section in the back for the mounting of a plug to power the power strip my PSU, pump, and cathode (maybe ... I haven't decided whether or not I want to put a plexiglass window in the front under the rad). Tonight my wife and I will put some walnut stain on it, and I'll have to post some pics. For my first carpentry project (my only powertool is a dremel), I think this is turning out frickin' sweet. Its not something you'd buy at a furniture store, but it would get me an A in high school woodshop (I always took CS and engineering geared classes ... me not proletariat). Until I put my rackmount project together, I'll probably use it as a printer table (and a chest for my wife to put her sh!t in ... she's a tad disorganized ... compared to a herd of pigs).

Here are the pics. Look at the height of the counter and doorknob for an idea of how big this sucker is. The outside edge of the trim on the front is a good representation of the size of the radiator that's going in it.

Go to users.adelphia.net/~jnsholcomb/ and select server project for more information about where this bad boy is going. I think I'm going to document the whole process for everyone (since this is a rather unique and complex solution for a rare system configuation).
