the koolance hard drive cooler. easier than building one, does it work?

yeah, if i were you, i'd get #Rotor's hdd block or get the one from dtek.

It's made of alu, thus does not fit in a copper based system. And it's quite restrictive, too.

or you could just aim a fan at the hdd

Why dont you just weld a couple of copper pipes to the drive cage ? I've seen someone do that (somewhere. Ill try to find a link).

so your hdd block fits in a 5.25" bay? is it possible to mount two hdds on it? and is it possible to have it in a 3.5" bay?

I love your Dehumidifer conversion FAQ. I picked one up today at a Sears clearance center. Almost like new for $90cad. I will start to mod it according to the way you did it. I also hear that I could use a light dimmer to control the fan.....?

You mention a contoller for the temp but gave no details. Do you have spec's on how to get one?
