I ditched the Chevette HC and went for a shorter but wider 92 Camaro HC. I didn't like the normal color, so I painted it black ;D.
![]() here it is with the case opened... ![]() I soldered some wire to the leads from where the PSU gets its AC power and hooked a molex up to them, and now the pump connects with a molex ![]() and here's with the case closed up ![]() Also, with my 8RDA+ I I'm getting 15° case temps with 25°c load on a 1900+ from MBM5 (at 1.75v)...is that right? What sensors should I be using? Winbond 2 for CPU and Winbond 1 for case temps?

I just have one question:
Question: How the heck do you fill that setup the way you have it, let alone how do you bleed the air out? ![]() Looks nice and slick otherwise ![]()

Well uhm, I couldn't find a good res (all mine kept leaking, and I haven't gotten around to buying one). I don't have a fill/bleed system, so what I did was make sure there was absolutely no air in the system, shook out all the air bubbles, tilted stuff so there was only water in there. So yeah, that's how I did it

do you happen to know the part number of that heater core? because i also have an antec style case like yours and it looks like the heater core you have fits perfectly.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the one. I just went to the local auto parts store and asked for a 92 Camaro heatercore (a lot cheaper there anyway, almost half the price
![]() ![]() Those were poly barbs (all I could find, 1/2"x1/4" NPT barbs are hard to find ![]() ![]() One more thing, the heatercore in there is pretty tight fit, so you might have to sorta smash it in there ![]()

Why did u paint it, that reduces its ability to dissapate the heat.

The inside didn't get much paint on it, just the face. It'll cool a little worse, but the difference will be negligible.

I looked into getting the 2-453 but an auto parts dude informed me it is 8 1/2" high (total) and that wouldn't fit. Also the 2-453 dosn't look like the one you have in your post. But maybe it is. How tall is your heatercore DJ-Quack? it might fit after all! Please post total dimensions.

Aw gee, no idea. It's all in my case and such. I believe it is 7.5 or 8" tall, and it's a tight squeeze like that. My Chevette HC was that 8.5" tall I believe, with the tanks, and it wouldn't fit in my current case.

Nice job. About AC from your psu. I did the same, tapped into the psu switch for AC. If the psu is on, so is my pump. I also added an extra safety feature. If the pumps not plugged into the psu the computer wont turn on. Its very easy to do, you just take the green wire in psu that goes to the m/b and run it thru the 2 unused terminals on the molex like so:
![]() If you want to run without pump plugged in, you can use a jumper or have a second molex making only the green side. peace. unloaded |

Wow, that looks great. I think I'll try it sometime, once I can get around to re-opening my PSU and crap

Hmm ok, but your SURE it is for the 92 Camero? I really wanted to use that one but didn't think it would fit. So right when I tell napa to order a chevette heatercore I find out it will fit. Err.

100% sure (unless the guy got me the wrong one :P). The conversation went something like this:
"Hey, you got a 92 camaro heatercore?" "Let's see...is that with AC?" "Uh...sure" "Ok, it's 24.95" "Can I see it?" "Sure" *gets it* "All right, I'll take it"

Well I stoppe by NAPA and they had a 92 Camero HC. It measured 8 3/8" tall. Just abit too big for my case. It also dosn't look quite like yours but maybe that's just because of a different manufacturer? I dunno.

A late response...
goto www.svc.com and get new cables. For 11US shipped, you can eliminate that clutter, and improve your airflow to that rad. I found each cable to be 1.50 - 2.50 each. A STEAL considering Frys has them for 14 EACH. ohhhhhhh big savings. The case will look alot better and its a cheap upgrade.

I suppose, but what quality are the cables? I've read you can get data corruption if you have cheap cables that will come apart easily.

The cables realisticly are just as cheap as any ribbon cable. I am not getting errors, and frankly if you bought double the cables in case one is bad, then you will still be better off. Im just recommending trying them out. The plastic casing does slide a bit, but you can move it into position quite easily.
