Default Will I ever get my $95 back from Chip (Overclock-Watercool.com) Update Refund Rec.

I don't see this posted yet -- so I will go ahead.

Overclock-Watercool seems to have gone bankrupt and they still owe me a $95 refund.

I bought a BI Extreme on pre-order back in November -- paid for it with paypal. I finally got it in early January and it had a hole in it. So I sent it back and just asked for a refund. I finally got Chip to agree to refund my money and he claimed he was cutting the check and sending it the next day (Feb 1, 2002). Well it still hasn't come and Chip seem to no longer be replying to emails.

Then I find out that Overclock-Watercool.com has ceased doing business. Check out the site -- http://www.overclock-watercool.com

I am sure there are others out there like be hoping to get their money back.

I have to say -- Procooling.com should never have climbed into bed with this shady operation. And to all those people that apologized for Chip (oh, he is so busy . . . etc, etc) -- well apparently he was not busy enough to stay in business. And now I am out $95 because of decisions I made partly based on the recomendations of the users and moderators of this site.

Default Oops?

Go check 7.2.i here of the PayPal user agreement. Think this is something u should take up with paypal and should have acted on long time ago, maybe they will still take your complaint.

chip was a good friendly guy, who always delivered on time. over the last 6 months he just went strange. 6 months ago I would happily recommend him, now I never would.

as for us recommending him, we backed him when he was good, but in the end we were the people who forced him to close up. so you can't blame us really.

Well Brad,

Thats not entirely true. I seem to remember a Pro-Cooling special back in November (less than 6 months ago) that allowed forum members to pre-order the BI Extreme. You had a link on your home page and everything.

That is how I got mixed up in this deal in the first place -- by clicking on your link.

I am not blaming you -- I blame Chip. But you really need to be careful on whom you put your recomendations.

well if there's anyone to blame that's certainly Jessica... I heard that bitch emptied Chip's bank account...

well sorry about the joke but I couldn't resist...
I don't think procooling is the one to blame in any of this crazy OCWC fiasco... If Joe didn't take immediate action in this maybe Chip was still screwin' people up...

anyways why don't you ask Paypal what needs to be done. I'm sure they'll find a solution to this.
I don't use paypal usually, stick with VISA/MASTER and AMEX...I had couple of situations like this in the past and especially Amex responded immediately.

Skrill,

I didnt recomend anyone who I felt was "evil" Once I found out about chips evil deeds I made it very public and got the hell away from that chump.

Read this thread if you havent. Its what brought OCWC down:
http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...watercooledcpu

OCWC's frront page clearly said he would pay everyone back who he owed money to.

Now I know he is STILL ****ING HwLabs over for damn near 3000$ and I am sure other people are still being ****ed by him. Chip is an unethical and overall untrustworth person who I feel personally wronged by just from his lies to me and everyone else.

I would call or email him or hell call the State Attorney General for Ohio and file a complaint for mail fraud against Russel Eckert.

Update.

Chip sent me the money via AOL QuickCash/C2it.

It came from datadetec@aol.com -- maybe that's his new email.

Anyway, I guess I have been made whole.

We all should have seen this coming when Tom Leufken sent out warnings a year ago after never being compensated for several sales of large lots of peltiers to chip.. ahh well..

I wouldn't be surprised if we see Chip show up again under a different company name within a few months..

Well, I'm down $314 from him... and I worked my ass off and starved myself for that amount. I'm a still college student with over $35,000+ in bills to pay off because of college... and I'm so broke I can't even afford food somedays because all my money goes to my bill payments... My job? I work part-time at my college cleaning bathrooms....

I ordered a koolance from him Nov. of last year, and never got it, and he never refunded me... e-mailed him so many times but never got a reply. I did sent him the e-mail I got from him after I ordered hoping to get my money back... but i really don't think I will be able to... People has told me to take him to court, but come on... I can't even afford food sometimes... how can I afford a lawyer? I have no one to turn to still... tried BBB, but they can't do anything... Paypal? can't do anything either because the date is way off the dead line in which then can do something about it. Some of you are lucky because 1. you didn't get burned a lot of money like me. 2. some of you are so lucky you got your money back... unlike me...

Oh well... I way too depressed right now... it got me to start to think that god just don't like me for some reason... nothing ever goes right for me as it goes right for other people... I don't know what I did to deserve this... but it must be bad... maybe my past life or something... Bad things happening one after another... maybe I should just end my life after all... get this all over with so I won't have to suffer anymore.

have you emailed him since he went out of business?

if so im sure there are many others who are still in the same spot you are..... which means a class action lawsuit is still in order.

Yes, I've e-mailed him after he went out of business. If I don't get a reply from him within a month... Well... I guess I would then do anything possible to try to get it back... since I do need that money bad...

I would do something now. If he did declare bankruptcy I know there is a time limit to which he is liable for his business. I had the same problem with a computer school I went to. I was lucky cause I was done with all except for one class before they went out of business, but others at my school got screwd to the tune of 16g's or more in some cases. They still haven't got there money back.... good luck to ya ming.

Heres my take on it.

Its been so long since he closed up shop you have only a few options:

1. Contact your local Postmaster and file a complaint against chip for mail fraud

2. Contact your Attorney General and file a complaint against chip for fraud

3. Contact the Ohio Attorney General and file a complaint against chip for mail fraud

4. go to your local poice station and ask them what they think you should do in such a case.

There is NOTHING I can do at this point. I would love to see his ass get reamed by an attorney general though

Sorry to join this thread so very late.

We supplied Chip Eckert (aka The Reverend Chip Eckert, Russel C Eckert) with goods which he has never paid for. He lied to us and then lied to the Fraud office investigator about having paid us.

What I have read on this forum confirms my worst suspicions.

The various prosecution authorities in Cincinnati told me that they cannt take action against Chip because I would need to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that he intended to defraud me. I was also told that I would have to attend court in person to testify - hardly easy as I am based in the UK.

I would like to see a joint class action against Chip by ALL of the many who he has cheated and defrauded.

If you want to catch up with im he is now running a non-denominational wedding officiant service, still licing in the same house and still has mailboxes at Montgomery road.

It's www.reverendchip.com

Seems a bit odd to have this link:

www.tragedy-cleanup.com

which is, of course, owned by overclock-watercool.

Other links on his page to missingkin.com and ip4norman.org do not exist.

And, as you noticed, every few pages have a popup advertising data-detective.com, which looks very silly as the popup has a data-detective.com URL.

He's a character, that Chip.
