Default Article... yeh dats right :)

Yeh I am going to write up a quickie lil article covering the quieting down of my rig... I was out of town all last week, and sometime this week I will be busy with work ( actually a few times this coming week), but between now and the end of next weekend I hope to get some time to get this posted. I may do some additional work on the machine between now and then also.. its still just a tad too loud for me ( PSU fan noise) so I am going to work on fixing that

Oh and a lil movie review: Bad Boys II = good.

well I went into this knowing HD's were going to be the loudest part, so there is still the HD noise, and I am good with that, cause I am just going to buy some quieter HD's down the road

Boli, funny that You refer to The Hulk in a thread about silence.
I saw it just a cuople of days ago, and, yep, OMFG!
I´m glad that I saw it in a theater, so I didn´t have to put my neighbours through it, not to mention my poor speakers.
I´ll have to check out how Joe silenced his HD.
regards

Joe I'm looking to try to hold down noise in the system I'm just strating to buy for. Along with low dba fans I've been looking at these sites for materials to line the case with to deaden the noise.

www.b-quiet.com They make foam to deaden noise in cars so it's flexable and should work in tight spots. I'm most interested in what the call L-comp, a composite.

www.mcmaster.com Here I'm looking at egg shell foam. It's listed under noise reduction in the last group in the right hand colum on their front page.

So not only am I looking forward to your article I'd love to hear your thoughts on these products.

im not completly sure, but that seriously doesnt sound like a great idea to me, mainly because it would probally act as an insultor and keep your computer hot inside like a thermos

You may well have a valid point, I hope not though. I ordered a PC76 just so I'd have room to line the case like this and still have good air circulation around drives and such due to the extra wide case.

Also as long as you have proper air flow it seems to me you'd be removing the heat as it's created. Only problem might be when you shut down it would take much longer to cool down. Perhaps a couple fans on a run after hook up would take care of it though.

I'm glad I saw this before ordering the foam. Joe's article will offer me some new ideas and may well save me for making some mistakes.

Well I am looking at that aspect as well as other practicality aspects of it. Needless to say I am not going to be singing its praises. I plan to finish it up this weekend and get it posted Saturday night or so.
