Default Rotor Block Design Q's

Has anyone made a #rotor block with the holes in a hex grid instead of a square grid?

Also what is the typical cost/dimentions (# of holes, size of holes, depth of holes ,grid dimentions, copper thickness) for a rotor AMD non-peltier block?

It would be nice if the places you bought these things were listed to. Thanks

you can buy a #rotor block from Me ....

I tried it in the 120º formation. It is unsatisfactory due to the fact that the formed pins between the 3 circomfering holes, are way to thin, resulting in a copper to liquid ratio with too much liquid, and not enough copper.... It did however work unexpectedly well, but that might be because it was only a GPU block. The 90º pattern is far easier and superior in performance, in my opinion.

pictures here.

I've been using my homemade #rotor style block quite a while now and will not go back to a "mass produced" block again.

As far as price goes it all depends on if you already have the tools to make one. If you have the tools then its very inexpensive.

I second everything FRAGN'STIEN said above, and all I can add is that you can't beat the feeling of making the block and than installing it, and be sure that you won't stop at that, you'll tweak it a little bit more for number of times...

As for the performance, they work REALLY good, so it's a double satisfaction...

Hanging out my butt for a heartily kick; doesn´t the copper/water ratio depent on the drill bit diameter?
OK, You´ve tried it, I haven´t, You talk, me listen.

nope, the granularity of the divisions are dependant on the size of the bit.... the ratio is depends on the shape of each pin, and thus the shape of the surrounding space in any repeatable pattern-sell.
